In The Scandal, Shin Youn Ha plays Lee So-ok, a woman who is set to become the concubine of Lady Cho’s husband, played by Son Ye Jin. Lady Cho is a woman with exceptional talents who feels she was not meant to spend her life confined to the limited role expected of women during the Joseon era. Meanwhile, Cho Won (Ji Chang Wook) is known as one of Joseon’s most accomplished lovers.
Lee So-ok becomes an important part of the romantic wager between Lady Cho and Cho Won. However, her character also has a story of her own after developing feelings for Kwon In-ho (Chani), the younger brother-in-law of An Hui-yeon (Nana).
