LayarHijau – Zhang Linghe once again captured fans’ attention at the Tencent Video Annual Conference, where the platform unveiled new promotional trailers for two of his upcoming dramas, the historical political romance The Road to Glory (归鸾) and the Republican-era romance Overdo (这一秒过火). Both trailers quickly drew strong interest from viewers and delivered impressive engagement on the platform.
The trailer release also coincided with China’s new crediting regulations for actors. In addition to their stage names, the lead cast members’ legal names were displayed in the credits. Zhang Linghe was credited under his legal name, Zhang Jiawei, while Lin Yun’s legal name, Fei Xia, also appeared.

The Road to Glory stars Zhang Linghe and Lin Yun in a story that blends political intrigue with romance. It follows Xiao Li, a man from humble beginnings who unexpectedly rescues Wen Yu, the princess of a fallen kingdom who has been sold into slavery while fleeing her homeland. The series follows Murong Qingyi, the son of a powerful warlord, and Ren Susu, the woman who once saved his life. A reunion sparked by a misunderstanding reignites both their love and hatred.
Overdo is set to premiere in July on both Tencent Video and iQIYI.
The newly released trailer for Overdo quickly became a hot topic online. One of the most talked-about scenes features Zhang Linghe’s character forcefully kissing Wang Churan’s character beside a sink. His tearful, obsessive gaze and her stunned reaction heightened the emotional tension that defines the drama.
The production team also released another emotional scene showing Zhang Linghe kneeling in the rain with tears in his eyes as he asks, “In that very second, did you ever love me?” The heartbreaking moment further showcased the drama’s tragic and emotionally charged atmosphere.
The two dramas also posted impressive numbers following the trailer release. The Road to Glory immediately climbed to No. 1 on Tencent Video’s fastest-rising popularity chart, surpassing a popularity index of 10,539. Meanwhile, Overdo topped the platform’s most anticipated dramas ranking.
Combined reservations for the two series have now approached five million. Their trailers also received more than 10,000 likes each after being posted on Tencent Video’s homepage, outperforming other dramas showcased during the same annual event.
