LayarHijau — A wave of sympathy and support continues to pour in for actress Shen Yue after she was caught in a controversy following the finale of the variety show The Inn 2026. This time, heartfelt support came from senior actors Huang Ting and Du Heqian, who played the parents of Chen Xiaoxi—the character portrayed by Shen Yue—in the 2017 hit drama A Love So Beautiful (致我们单纯的小美好).
Taking to social media, the two veteran actors shared touching messages to defend and comfort their former co-star, who is currently facing intense public scrutiny.

Heartfelt Messages from Her On-Screen “Father” and “Mother”
Upon hearing that Shen Yue had become the target of online criticism, Huang Ting expressed his deep sadness. He shared that he still feels a strong emotional bond after working closely together for months on set years ago.
“Today, I heard netizens saying that (Shen Yue) was being bullied. As those who played her father and mother in the drama, we truly don’t feel good about this,” Huang Ting stated. “To our Yueyue—who was a child back then and is now a grown-up—grow to be more mature and keep moving forward bravely.”
Echoing Huang Ting’s sentiments, Du Heqian could not hide her anger and heartache over the malicious comments directed at Shen Yue online.
“Occasionally, while browsing the internet, I come across malicious attacks targeting her. My heart feels incredibly angry and pained. I always just want to give her a tight hug—to hug this child who silently bears all this unfair pressure by herself,” Du Heqian said.
Du Heqian also advised Shen Yue to ignore the negative voices. She believed that criticism and slander would ultimately serve as stepping stones toward even greater success in her acting career. “Stay true to your original intent, walk your path with integrity, and always be your bright, shining self, growing toward the sun,” she added.
A Brief Timeline of the Controversy
The controversy itself stemmed from a playful award segment during the finale of The Inn 2026. Shen Yue and several other guests presented a lighthearted, joking award to Dylan Wang—her former co-star from Meteor Garden (流星花园) 2018.
However, the atmosphere quickly turned awkward due to a verbal slip by the host, which made the joke sound much harsher than intended. The situation escalated when cameras caught Dylan Wang looking visibly uncomfortable after learning about a private group chat that did not include him.
Although Shen Yue promptly issued a public apology and shared screenshots of their work group chats to clarify the context and clear up any misunderstandings, she still faced backlash from some netizens.
The public support from Huang Ting and Du Heqian serves as a clear reminder that despite the online uproar, Shen Yue remains well-regarded and deeply cared for by her colleagues in the entertainment industry.
