LayarHijau — Taiwanese actress and TV host Yan Liting shared her impressions after using the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable phone. According to Taiwanese media reports, she originally planned to make a video sharing her experience. Instead, she found that many of the apps she uses every day did not work smoothly on the device. She admitted, “Actually, going back to the iPhone 17 doesn’t seem so bad.”
Yan Liting (also known by her English name, Tina Yen) was born on December 24, 1981. She is best known as a variety show host, most notably of Yidai Nuwang (一袋女王) — One Bag Queen, which she hosted for about three years until June 2018. She currently hosts Yisheng Hao La (醫師好辣) — Doctors Are So Spicy and Zimei Liang Qilai (姊妹亮起來) — Sisters Light Up. She has also appeared in several local Taiwanese dramas. Because of her outspoken style, fans nicknamed her Yan Ge (“Brother Yan”).

The first problem she named was the inner screen. Many apps are not yet compatible with it, so the display proportions look odd, and she felt the picture quality was off as well.
Second, in messaging apps, the sticker feature does not work properly and the voice recording button cannot be tapped. Yan Liting said that to use them, she has to fold the phone closed first.
Third, when writing a post on Instagram, the keyboard cannot insert a line break. The problem persists even when the phone is closed. “How much more annoying can it get?” she complained.
Fourth, every phone call that connects automatically switches to speakerphone. To cancel it, she has to turn off the inner screen first, and only then can she use the outer screen. Even so, she praised the larger display, saying it “really looks awesome and so satisfying.”
Her post about her hands-on experience drew plenty of responses. Entertainer Li Peizhen commented with a shocked, nearly crying emoji: “I just got mine today.” Liang Hequn wrote, “What exactly have you been busy with?” Yan Liting replied jokingly, “Busy, but in an orderly way.”
Several commenters praised her review. They wrote, “Finally, a fairly fair assessment” and “A sincere share.” Yan Liting replied directly, “I can’t lie.”
One commenter who claimed to know the display panel industry also weighed in. In his words, “Anyone who has worked in panel industry marketing knows foldable phones are only worth buying from the second generation, because that’s when software has properly adapted to the panel’s size proportions.” Another user who had run into the same issues wrote, “This is a bug everyone already knows about, especially the app incompatibility,” and “The inner screen’s aspect ratio needs to be changed, you can’t use full screen.”
