LayarHijau – Chinese actress Zhao Lusi has once again attracted attention for her outspoken personality. Although she has yet to star in a new drama since recovering from a serious illness, she continues to interact with fans through social media. During a recent livestream, Zhao Lusi compared the iPhone 18 with an older model and delivered a verdict that left viewers amused.
While examining an iPhone 18 belonging to one of her staff members, Zhao Lusi carefully looked for differences between the device and its predecessor. However, after comparing the phones for some time, she appeared to have difficulty identifying any significant changes.

Someone nearby then pointed out that the Dynamic Island on the screen was slightly smaller. Once she noticed the difference, Zhao Lusi reacted with surprise. She furrowed her brows, moved the phone out of the camera’s view, and declared, “Not necessary!”
Zhao Lusi felt that such a minor difference did not justify spending money on a new phone. Her spontaneous reaction suggested that she did not see the need to follow the trend of upgrading every time a new model arrived.
iPhone 18 and Used iPhone 14 Prices in China
Price is another relevant consideration when comparing the devices. According to Apple’s official China website, the iPhone 18 Pro starts at 9,999 yuan, or approximately US$1,400, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at 10,999 yuan, or around US$1,540.
Meanwhile, a reference buyback price for a used 128GB iPhone 14 at a mobile phone store in Nanyang, China, on October 11, 2026, ranged from 1,580 to 1,780 yuan, equivalent to approximately US$220–250.
These figures represent reference buyback prices for devices in relatively good condition, rather than fixed retail prices for secondhand phones. The actual resale price may vary depending on the phone’s physical condition, battery health, storage capacity, and repair history.
iPhone 18 Pro vs. iPhone 14: Specifications Compared
Apple’s official specifications indicate several improvements in the iPhone 18 Pro compared with the iPhone 14, although both devices use OLED displays.
The iPhone 18 Pro features a 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 2,622 × 1,206 pixels and a pixel density of 460 pixels per inch (ppi). It is powered by the A20 Pro chip and features a triple rear camera system with three 48-megapixel cameras, including a main camera with a variable aperture.
By comparison, the iPhone 14 has a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,532 × 1,170 pixels and the same pixel density of 460 ppi. Released in 2022, the device is powered by the A15 Bionic chip and features a dual rear camera system consisting of a 12-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
The differences between the two models therefore extend beyond display size and the Dynamic Island. The iPhone 18 Pro also offers improvements in processing power, camera capabilities, and display technology, including ProMotion with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
However, these iPhone 18 Pro specifications should not automatically be attributed to the device Zhao Lusi examined during her livestream, as the original report identified it only as an iPhone 18.
Zhao Lusi Jokes About Selling Used Phones
Zhao Lusi subsequently examined the resolution and display of the iPhone 14. In her opinion, there was no particularly noticeable difference. During the conversation, she even joked, “It seems like we’re going to sell secondhand phones today.”
The actress then playfully adopted the persona of a livestream shopping host promoting products. The moment became even more entertaining as Zhao Lusi appeared to transform from someone comparing phones into a salesperson pitching secondhand devices to viewers.
After clips from the livestream circulated online, Zhao Lusi’s candid attitude prompted amused reactions from netizens. Some praised her willingness to speak her mind, particularly when she suggested that buying the latest phone was not always necessary.
