LayarHijau — South Korean singer DJ SODA says she was attacked by her first boyfriend, a well-known Korean rapper, while he was drunk. The attack left a scar of about 5 centimeters (2 inches) on her left hand. She also says she was later cheated on by another ex-boyfriend, a basketball player. She shared the stories while promoting a new song in Taiwan on October 16.
DJ SODA appeared with C.Holly, a member of the girl group HUR+, to promote their collaborative single Huaxin Daluobo (花心大蘿蔔) — Fickle-Hearted Big Radish.

The rapper ex: an “angel” when sober, violent when drunk
DJ SODA said the relationship took place in 2015. At first, she believed her partner was someone she could trust. His behavior changed, however, once he started drinking.
“When he doesn’t drink, he acts like an angel, but as soon as he drinks, he starts hitting people,” DJ SODA said.
According to her account, on one occasion her ex lost control while drunk and attacked her with a broken bottle. DJ SODA said blood kept flowing from the wound, though it fortunately did not hit an artery. A scar of about 5 centimeters is still visible on her left hand.
She said the incident was not made public at the time. Her ex is now reportedly married. DJ SODA did not name the rapper.
The experience left her wary of close relationships. DJ SODA said she repeatedly met partners who were wrong for her, so she is now more careful about love and marriage.
The basketball player ex: reportedly talking to seven women at once
DJ SODA then described her most recent relationship, with a well-known basketball player. At the time, she believed he had already broken up with his previous girlfriend. Later, a friend told her he was in fact still involved with other women at the same time.
DJ SODA said he was even talking to seven women at once. She said she was furious when she found out.
She then invited the other women to form a group chat, and the group named itself Fuchouzhe Lianmeng (a play on “The Avengers,” roughly “The Women’s Revenge Alliance”).
“We made a group chat together, then added the guy to the group and cursed him out,” DJ SODA said, laughing.
After the breakup, the two sides reportedly made accusations against each other. DJ SODA said police contacted her and the matter went into legal proceedings. She said she has not seen him since she learned of the cheating. She urged young women to stay alert when making friends or dating, and to choose their partners carefully.
Background on the collaboration with C.Holly
DJ SODA shared these stories while promoting Huaxin Daluobo. The collaboration began in early May, when DJ SODA contacted C.Holly on Instagram and immediately proposed working together. In June, C.Holly finished writing the song. In July, DJ SODA flew to Taiwan to record her vocals, and the song was officially released in August. From first contact to release, including the making of the music video, the whole process took a little over three months.
C.Holly wrote the music and lyrics, sang, and produced the song. She originally just wanted a song that two women could sing together. Because both are Aries, DJ SODA plays a lovestruck girl who falls in love easily, while C.Holly plays the blunt best friend who snaps her back to reality.
C.Holly also said she has been single for three years. She likes “bad boy” types and men younger than herself. The youngest ex she has dated was six years her junior. Her last relationship, with someone in the entertainment industry, ended amicably. C.Holly called making this song “painful yet happy”, but said she chose to focus on the happy memories.
