LayarHijau — Japanese actress Ayaka Miyoshi is drawing attention in South Korea after going all in on steamy scenes in the film Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub. Korean netizens have also revived talk of bathing with her father until age 20, based on a 2020 appearance on a Japanese TV show. The age of 20 came from rumors a guest cited in a question. Ayaka Miyoshi herself said she bathed with her father until high school.
The crime film opened in South Korea on Sept. 23, 2026, and has reportedly drawn more than 1 million viewers as of Sept. 30. Its box office is said to have topped NT$240 million (about $7.5 million). Despite its adults-only rating, the film reached No. 1 at the daily box office on its sixth day in theaters, knocking out Assassin(s), which opened the same day.

Ayaka Miyoshi plays Kaneko, an executive at a Japanese company with yakuza ties, in her first Korean film. Starring opposite Byun Yo-han, she performs several intimate scenes, including one in which she appears very exposed.
Director Choi Gook-hee said in an interview that he asked Ayaka Miyoshi how far she was comfortable going before shooting the scene. “Anything is fine,” she replied. The director was quick to praise her. “So cool,” he said.
As the film took off, Korean netizens dug up a 2020 clip from the Japanese talk show Meringue no Kimochi. In it, a guest brought up rumors about Ayaka Miyoshi’s closeness with her father and asked, “I heard you usually hold hands with your dad when you go out, and I even heard you took baths with him until you were 20. What do you think?”
Ayaka Miyoshi answered bluntly: “I really did take baths with him.” The guests in the studio were reportedly stunned.
She went on to clarify that she bathed with her father until high school and stopped because he felt embarrassed. Even so, she said she still occasionally goes into the bathroom to help wash his hair. Asked whether her ideal type is a man like her father, she answered simply, “Right.”
The clip drew heavy discussion among Korean netizens, and some of the comments were harsh:
“Oh my God, they’ve really gone crazy.”
“This is why there’s a ‘sugar daddy’ culture.”
“I just think this is a twisted culture.”
“What a crazy country.”
Other netizens took a calmer view, saying the issue comes down to differences in culture and family values and shouldn’t be blown out of proportion. Japanese netizens were said to be more relaxed about it, since family topics like this are considered ordinary on Japanese variety shows. Japanese media were also said to have covered the story before. Ayaka Miyoshi has not responded and is continuing to promote the film in South Korea.
Ayaka Miyoshi began her career as a magazine model in elementary school and made her acting debut in a TV drama at age 11. She also released music with the idol group Sakura Gakuin. Across Asia, she is best known for appearing in the music video for Jay Chou’s song Won’t Cry (说好不哭) in 2019 and in the Netflix series Alice in Borderland.
She turns 30 this year, and in an interview she called that age “a huge turning point.” As a teenager, she had already said she wanted to “be active in Asia.”
On the YouTube show Egennam Swings, she said her work with Korean partners is just getting started and that several local projects are in the works. She said she likes “direct emotional expression” from Koreans and feels she can express her feelings more naturally there.
