LayarHijau – Dylan Wang’s father has finally addressed the growing controversy surrounding The Inn 2026 after the situation reportedly began affecting the family’s restaurant business in Sichuan.

In an interview with local media, Wang Qin said he is not part of the entertainment industry and does not fully understand the online arguments surrounding his son. He also stressed that he was never personally involved in the situation.

Still, he said he understands the pressure Dylan Wang faces as a public figure constantly working in the entertainment industry.

“My son is usually very busy with work. I don’t think people should suppress their emotions too much,” he said.

Wang Qin added that he did not want to comment further on the controversy itself, but admitted that the situation has had a clear impact on the family business over the past few days.

According to him, sales at the family restaurant have dropped by around 40 percent during both daytime and evening hours. The restaurant previously handled around 160 to 170 orders per day, but that number has reportedly fallen to around 100.

The controversy began during the finale of The Inn 2026, when Shen Yue and several guests presented Dylan Wang with a joking award meant to tease him about his personality in a lighthearted way. However, the atmosphere quickly became awkward after the host accidentally added an extra word while reading the award title, making it sound much harsher than intended.

The situation escalated further when one part of the speech revealed that there was a private group chat without Dylan Wang in it. Cameras later captured the actor looking visibly surprised and uncomfortable. After the episode aired, Dylan Wang later admitted that he genuinely felt “uncomfortable” about the situation after reading viewers’ discussions and online reactions.

The incident quickly sparked heated debate on Weibo. Some netizens defended Dylan Wang, arguing that jokes between friends can still cross personal boundaries, while others felt the issue should have remained a private matter instead of becoming a public controversy.

The backlash eventually spread to the family’s fried snack restaurant, known locally as “Di Ba Fried,” in Leshan, Sichuan.

Online review platforms recently showed a wave of negative ratings targeting the restaurant. Some comments even echoed Dylan Wang’s own use of the word “uncomfortable” while criticizing the family business. One user wrote, “Even eating your fried skewers makes me uncomfortable.”

At the same time, many Dylan Wang fans rushed to support the family business by visiting the restaurant and flooding review sections with positive ratings.

Reporters who visited Zhanggongqiao Food Street in Leshan on the evening of May 26 said the restaurant looked noticeably quieter than usual. Despite having dozens of tables available, only a few were occupied, while several employees were seen chatting during slow hours.

Despite the backlash, Wang Qin said the family would continue focusing on running the business properly rather than forcing anyone to visit.

“If people don’t want to come, that’s okay. We’ll just keep focusing on making our food well,” he said.

He also encouraged tourists to visit Leshan for its local food and attractions, not just the family’s restaurant.
