LayarHijau — Actor Zhang Linghe is currently busy filming the historical political drama The Road to Glory (归鸾). In the series, he plays Xiao Li, an ambitious and determined hero from a grassroots background. As a production packed with political intrigue and action, the drama demands peak physical condition, with numerous fight scenes and intense wirework required on set.

However, concerns surfaced after Zhang Linghe was recently spotted limping on his way to work. His apparent difficulty walking quickly drew attention from fans, raising worries about his condition. Footage circulating online shows the actor needing assistance from several staff members just to get out of his car on April 27, suggesting a noticeable physical issue.

Reports from the set also indicate that Zhang Linghe has been pushing through late-night and overnight filming schedules, leaving him physically drained. In one moment captured on site, he appeared to struggle to stand up after completing a floor scene. He reportedly tried to get up twice but failed due to extreme exhaustion. It was also said that he showed signs of low blood sugar amid the demanding schedule.

Seeing his condition, co-star Lin Yun and several crew members quickly stepped in to help. “Lin Yun and the staff on site helped him to his feet,” an eyewitness shared. The moment highlights both the intense workload on set and Zhang Linghe’s determination to continue filming despite reaching his physical limits.

As concern among fans grew, Zhang Linghe’s studio and the production team released an official statement to reassure the public. They explained that the issue was caused by leg muscle spasms resulting from accumulated fatigue due to high-intensity action scenes. “The cause is leg muscle spasms, which are the result of accumulated fatigue from high-intensity movements. It has been confirmed that there are no injuries to bones or ligaments,” the team stated. They also confirmed that physical therapy and schedule adjustments have been arranged for the actor.

To fully portray Xiao Li in The Road to Glory, Zhang Linghe reportedly underwent intense preparation prior to filming. He gained around 8 kilograms of muscle and committed to long-term physical training to convincingly embody a strong grassroots leader. While his dedication has earned praise, many hope that both the agency and production team will be more attentive to the actor’s health moving forward, ensuring that production quality does not come at the expense of his well-being.
