LayarHijau – Chinese historical drama Coroner’s Diary (朝雪录), starring Li Landi and Ao Ruipeng, has officially premiered and quickly soared to No. 3 on Maoyan’s popularity rankings for mainland Chinese dramas. The series trails only behind Flourished Peony (锦绣芳华) and The Narcotic Operation (扫毒风暴), signaling strong momentum.
In Coroner’s Diary, Li Landi plays a calm and intelligent ancient coroner—someone akin to a forensic doctor in ancient China. Her blend of sharp intellect and delicate beauty captivated viewers and sent her popularity skyrocketing. But beyond her acting, it’s her physical transformation that’s once again become a hot topic online.

From Harsh Criticism to Overwhelming Praise
Li Landi faced harsh online criticism in 2019 when she starred in Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty (梦回). Just 20 years old at the time, her fuller figure—especially her round face—was labeled “meat bun face” by netizens, who cruelly dubbed her “the chubby actress of costume dramas.”
One particular behind-the-scenes clip fueled the ridicule: a romantic lift scene between her and second male lead Xin Yunlai failed repeatedly because he couldn’t lift her. In the end, the crew had to use a ladder and assistants to simulate the princess carry, which only intensified public mockery.
Despite the negativity, that moment became a turning point. Though her real-life height (162 cm) and weight (around 55 kg) weren’t excessive by normal standards, her figure appeared larger on camera. Determined to change public perception, she committed to a strict weight-loss regime, Upmedia wrote.
Dropped 18 Kilograms for Starry Love
In 2021, she dropped a remarkable 18 kilograms to prepare for her role in Starry Love (星落凝成糖) opposite Chen Xingxu. The transformation was striking—her jawline and cheekbones became more defined, highlighting her naturally symmetrical features.
Combined with her growing acting skills, Li Landi gained a wave of new fans who admired both her dedication and her performance.
A New Level of Beauty in Coroner’s Diary
Now in Coroner’s Diary, Li Landi’s transformation is more apparent than ever. Her face has become noticeably slimmer—often described as “palm-sized”—with sharp bone structure, clear, fair skin, and a glow that almost looks poreless. Netizens praised her as looking “plastic surgery-level beautiful, but all natural.”
Her look in the drama is deliberately understated: a simple bun, light makeup, soft brows, and plain ancient robes. Yet that minimalism only highlights her classical elegance and dignified aura, winning over viewers who once doubted her.
In addition to Coroner’s Diary, Li Landi also stars in two other projects: Love of Nirvana (流水迢迢) with Ren Jialun, and Filter (滤镜) alongside Tan Jianci. She has consistently maintained her figure across all three, further solidifying her new image.
