LayarHijau – Zhang Jingyi’s fan club has denied a rumor circulating on Weibo after well-known Chinese entertainment paparazzo Liu Dachui discussed the actress’s alleged past relationship during a recent livestream.
The topic gained traction on Tuesday (July 21) under the hashtag #刘大锤曝张婧仪被陈飞宇分手后很伤心 (Liu Dachui Claims Zhang Jingyi Was Heartbroken After Being Dumped by Chen Feiyu). By the end of the day, the hashtag had amassed approximately 170 million views and more than 22,000 discussions on Weibo.

Shortly after the topic went viral, Zhang Jingyi’s fan club shared a screenshot of the hashtag on Weibo. Without offering any further explanation, the account posted a single word:
“假” which translates to “Fake.”
Liu Dachui Explains Where the Rumor Came From
During the livestream, Liu Dachui made it clear from the beginning that he would not reveal anyone’s name.
“I’m not going to name anyone. If you look into it yourselves, you’ll figure out who I’m talking about.”
He then explained that the story originated from a man named Lao Meng.
According to Liu Dachui, Lao Meng knew someone who worked around a certain actress while she was filming in Shanghai. During one of their conversations, that person said the actress always appeared cheerful on set, even though she was actually struggling emotionally behind the scenes.
“She always gave everyone the impression that she was bright and cheerful while filming. But privately, she wasn’t in a good place emotionally.”
When Lao Meng asked what had happened, the source allegedly said the actress had recently gone through a breakup.
“They said she had just ended her previous relationship.”
Liu Dachui said Lao Meng became curious about the identity of the actress’s ex-boyfriend. However, because the information came from someone working around the actress, he couldn’t keep pressing for more details.
According to Liu Dachui, the source later let slip that the actress’s former boyfriend was the male lead from her previous project.
“They had been together before. Why was she so heartbroken? Because, according to them, she was the one who got dumped.”
Liu Dachui said he and Lao Meng then compared various clues until they believed they had identified the person involved.
At the same time, he acknowledged that the story was entirely based on secondhand accounts rather than firsthand knowledge.
“The story went from that person to Lao Meng, from Lao Meng to me, and now I’m telling it to all of you.”
He also insisted that he had not embellished the story.
“I didn’t add anything to it.”
Zhang Jingyi Was Named, Arthur Chen Was Not
Although Liu Dachui repeatedly said he would not reveal anyone’s identity, he later mentioned Zhang Jingyi by name while transitioning to another topic.
“Speaking of Zhang Jingyi and Chen Xingxu back when they were filming together…”
He said one of their colleagues had been present on the set where Zhang Jingyi and Chen Xingxu were filming and knew about several incidents that took place at the time. However, he never elaborated on those stories, instead joking that Chen Xingxu could probably reveal plenty of interesting anecdotes if he ever decided to publish a memoir.
Notably, Arthur Chen’s name was never mentioned during the livestream itself. Instead, his name appeared in the Weibo hashtag attached to clips from the broadcast, leading many online users to speculate that he was the unnamed actor Liu Dachui was referring to. Arthur Chen previously starred opposite Zhang Jingyi in the hit drama Lighter & Princess.
Netizens Question the Rumor’s Credibility
The claim sparked mixed reactions across Weibo, with many users expressing doubts that Zhang Jingyi and Arthur Chen had ever dated.
“Why don’t I believe Zhang Jingyi and Chen Feiyu ever dated?” one user wrote.
Another mocked Liu Dachui’s credibility.
“I totally believe Liu Dachui. From now on, I’ll start selling insurance too,” another user joked sarcastically.
Others urged people not to jump to conclusions.
“Liu Dachui is saying again that Chen Feiyu dumped Zhang Jingyi and she stayed heartbroken for a long time. But did they ever actually date? What if this is just another made-up story to attract attention?”
Zhang Jingyi Has Previously Been Linked to Two Co-Stars
Arthur Chen and Zhang Jingyi starred together in the romance drama Lighter & Princess, where their on-screen chemistry fueled dating speculation among fans. However, neither actor has ever confirmed those rumors.
Before that, Zhang Jingyi was also linked to Chen Xingxu, her co-star in Fall in Love. Dating rumors surrounding the pair circulated during the drama’s production, but those reports were never confirmed either.
As of this writing, neither Zhang Jingyi nor Arthur Chen has publicly responded to the latest speculation. Meanwhile, Zhang Jingyi’s fan club has already dismissed the claim as “fake.”
