LayarHijau — Online posts claim that actor Liu Xueyi and actress Zhang Yuxi were once in a relationship for more than three years. According to Sohu Entertainment, the claim is now being widely discussed by netizens in China. Neither actor has ever confirmed a relationship, and their studios have denied similar rumors repeatedly.
Chinese drama fans know Liu Xueyi and Zhang Yuxi from two projects in which they co-starred. Rumors about their closeness began circulating in 2021 and have resurfaced whenever netizens or gossip media shared new photos.

They first worked together in 2020 on the fantasy drama Love and Redemption (琉璃), with Liu Xueyi as Haochen and Zhang Yuxi as Chu Linglong. They did not share many scenes in that drama.
They reunited in 2021 for Love at Night (夜色暗涌时), a 30-episode urban romance. Liu Xueyi played Mo Lingze, a decisive investment banker, and Zhang Yuxi played Xu Qingyou, a white-collar worker who discovers her boyfriend is cheating. The drama began streaming on iQIYI’s international platform (iq.com) on November 9, 2021. With the two leads falling in love on screen, rumors of an off-screen romance spread easily.
Here is a timeline of the rumors, based on Sohu Entertainment’s material:
Late August 2021: Paparazzi photographed Liu Xueyi entering Zhang Yuxi’s residence in Hengdian, a major film studio hub in Zhejiang Province. The two reportedly left one after the other the next day. Zhang Yuxi’s studio described Liu Xueyi as “a friend from the same residential complex stopping by” and denied that they were dating.
January 2022: A netizen said they spotted the two having hot pot alone together in Ningbo, a city in Zhejiang. A photo that circulated showed Liu Xueyi peeling shrimp for Zhang Yuxi. Some netizens thought the gesture was too intimate for mere colleagues, while others pointed out that co-workers often share meals.
Around the same time, Zhang Yuxi’s studio also denied reports that the two would team up for a third project, saying there were no plans to work together.
To date, no photo or official statement has shown that the two are dating. The claim that they were together for more than three years remains a netizen allegation, unconfirmed by Liu Xueyi, Zhang Yuxi, or their studios.
