LayarHijau — The drama Against the Current (兰香如故) has ended, but fans are still having a hard time letting go. A celebration party for the drama was recently held, and the official Weibo account invited the cast to livestream with fans.
During the livestream, Tan Songyun and Liu Xueyi appeared cold and stiff toward each other. Some netizens said the two were deliberately keeping their distance. According to reports, the real reason was exhaustion.

The venue was set up like a wedding, with decorations that recreated scenes from the drama. The wedding pastries served were identical to those that appeared in the series. When fans asked about the filling, Tan Songyun said it was red bean paste. Liu Xueyi said he was surprised at how quickly fans had found out.
Many fans hoped the two would work together again. Tan Songyun replied, “We’ll see.” Liu Xueyi added, “If there’s a good team and a good script, we’re very willing.”
Fans then asked what kind of project they would like to try. Tan Songyun replied, “We don’t do ‘what ifs.’” Some netizens saw the answer as an attempt to draw a line.
The two were also seen absorbed in their own phones without talking to each other. According to reports, they had already been working all day. The livestream had not originally scheduled them to appear. They were reportedly asked to step in at the last minute and were only there for the first 10 minutes.
That day, the two had spent the entire day filming a variety show with other cast members. At the start of the livestream, Tan Songyun admitted, “I used the last of my energy today on this ‘hello.’” Liu Xueyi also looked tired, with red eyes. Netizens compared the two to newlyweds slumped in their chairs after a long day. They said the cold demeanor was understandable given how worn out they were.
The two also announced that there would be a segment where they sing together on the variety show, so there was no sign they were deliberately avoiding each other.
Off camera, the two are known to be close and often tease each other in behind-the-scenes clips. During the livestream, Liu Xueyi called Tan Songyun the smartest member of their variety show group. He described himself as the slacker with a slick tongue. Tan Songyun laughed and played along, and the atmosphere appeared relaxed.
