Yang Yang is known for Love O2O (微微一笑很倾城) and You Are My Glory (你是我的荣耀). In the new drama, he plays Xu Xingchun, a gifted forensic doctor who appears calm and restrained but carries complicated emotions inside. The role is a sharp departure from Xiao Nai, the cold, brilliant college student in Love O2O, and Yu Tu, the aerospace engineer in You Are My Glory.
His co-star, Chen Duling, plays Fu Xueli, a top actress with a strong, flamboyant, and captivating personality. The two characters will be drawn into a relationship charged with emotional tension.
The reunion of Yang Yang and Chen Duling is one of the drama’s main draws. The two appeared together in the 2015 film The Left Ear (左耳), making this their first project together in 11 years. Their pairing in the urban romance genre has also sparked fan discussion.
On the production side, the drama is directed by Li Qingrong, who directed Hidden Love (偷偷藏不住), and Qu Youning, who directed The First Frost (难哄). Tencent Video and Dongcha Yule are listed as the producers.
Kiss in the Wind is adapted from the novel of the same name by author Jijidemao, published on Jinjiang Literature City, a popular online novel platform in China.
According to reports, filming is said to begin in early November in Wuxi, Shanghai, and other locations. An official filming schedule and premiere date have not been announced, and the supporting cast has not been revealed.
