LayarHijau — Japanese AV actress Misaki Mayu has opened up about her wealthy upbringing in an interview with the Japanese outlet Nikkan SPA!. Born in Tokyo to parents who both run businesses, she once lived in a luxury apartment that rented for 1.5 million yen a month (about $10,000), with household staff handling daily chores.
Misaki said her family first lived in an upscale detached house in central Tokyo before moving into a high-rise condo. She studied piano, ballet, and cheer dance from a young age. Piano lessons alone cost 300,000 yen a month (about $2,000), while ballet lessons ran 350,000 yen (about $2,300).

Because she was always driven to and from school, Misaki did not learn to ride the train until middle school. The first time she entered a major station on her own, she could not tell the different train types apart and burst into tears. She even complained to her mother, “Why do I have to take the train?” It took her about a month to get used to it.
She also did not set foot in a conveyor belt sushi restaurant until her senior year of high school. Misaki did not know how to use the ordering screen, pour tea, or pick sushi off the belt, which surprised her friends. She said she was so pampered that she struggled to take care of herself.
As for why she became an AV actress, Misaki said she may have “lost her head for a moment.” She said she craves excitement and does not want to live the same life as everyone else. Early in her career, she admitted, she briefly regretted the decision and worried most about her family finding out.
Her parents still do not know what she really does for a living. She has only told them she works as a hostess at a nightlife venue, keeping customers company over drinks. Her parents were puzzled, since she never had to struggle growing up. Misaki explained that she wanted to be financially independent but could not lower her standard of living, so she decided to earn money on her own. Asked how her parents would react if they found out, she said, “If they knew, they would probably cry.”
Misaki, who grew up eating high-end cuisine, said she loves the roughly 1,000-yen (about $7) boxed lunches on set. Looking ahead, she hopes to keep earning her fans’ affection and joked that she wants to be treated like a princess forever.
