Baifern Pimchanok, known internationally for the film A Little Thing Called Love, takes on the challenging task of playing twin sisters Muta and Munin. Muta is portrayed as a gentle woman who becomes involved with a man who claims he is not engaged. After she becomes pregnant, she meets a tragic end.
Munin, meanwhile, is an engineer with a much stronger personality. Devastated by the tragedy that befalls her twin sister, she becomes consumed by grief and an obsession with revenge.
The drama’s dark atmosphere is evident in one particularly unsettling scene in which Munin keeps Muta’s body inside a transparent glass coffin. She then turns the coffin into a dining table in her home. The disturbing arrangement reflects the depth of Munin’s grief and the increasingly obsessive nature of her attachment to her sister.
However, the scene that has attracted the most attention online involves Munin disguising herself as Muta and confronting the legitimate wife of a high-ranking official. Played by veteran actress Benz, the woman makes a forceful entrance outside a government building before delivering a hard slap to Munin.
The slap sends Munin tumbling down an exceptionally long staircase in a sequence that lasts around 20 seconds. Filmed from a high angle, the scene shows her body repeatedly rolling down the steps and across several landings before finally reaching the bottom.
Rather than leaving viewers simply shocked, the sequence has triggered a wave of humorous reactions across social media. Some viewers joked that Baifern appeared to have activated an automatic spinning mode, as her character kept rolling without stopping until she reached the bottom.
Others quipped that Munin might as well pick up someone’s food delivery along the way. The reactions of the surrounding extras, who stand by screaming without attempting to help her, have also added to the scene’s unintended comedic effect.
Clips of the sequence have since spread across multiple social media platforms, becoming meme material among international viewers. The viral moment has helped bring Raeng Ngao 2026 to a wider audience, including people who may not have been familiar with the series before.
The drama’s popularity is also reflected in its ratings. According to official ONE31 data cited by Hong Kong media outlet HK01, Raeng Ngao 2026 has surpassed 2.06 million cumulative viewers across Thailand. It has also recorded a rating of 3.39 in Bangkok, making it ONE31’s highest-rated drama of 2026 so far.
On social media, the series has reportedly generated more than 1.068 billion in reach and approximately 159 million interactions. These figures highlight the considerable public interest in a drama that combines infidelity, family tragedy, and revenge with exceptionally over-the-top dramatic scenes.
The viral slap and staircase fall have become one of Raeng Ngao 2026’s biggest talking points since its premiere. Despite the jokes surrounding the exaggerated sequence, the series starring Baifern Pimchanok has succeeded in attracting viewers and securing an impressive ratings milestone for ONE31.
