One Weibo post read, “I can’t take it anymore,” adding that the scene had exploded overseas. One netizen wrote, “Thai dramas have now surpassed India’s ‘divine dramas.’” The comment refers to Indian dramas known in China for their over-the-top action scenes, often called shenju (divine dramas).
The clip points to an iconic moment in Raeng Ngao, which airs on One31 in Thailand. In the story, Noppanapa, a wife who is also a government minister, clashes with Mutta, her husband’s mistress, and Mutta ends up falling down a staircase in front of the ministry. According to Thairath, the scene has long been a meme among Thai drama fans, mainly through the line “Is this… Noppanapa?” Thairath also reported that in the Raeng Ngao 2026 teaser, the slap-and-fall scene features a staircase far taller than usual.
The 2026 version of Raeng Ngao is a remake of a popular drama that has been remade several times. Baifern Pimchanok plays the twin sisters Munin and Mutta. She stars opposite Benz Pornchita as Noppanapa. Jes Jespipat and Poh Natthawut also appear in the drama, along with other cast members.
Unlike earlier versions, which centered on a fight over a husband, the 2026 version is framed as an investigative drama. Munin, a programmer who has just returned from the United States, finds that Mutta has died. Mutta was the mistress of Jenaphop, director of the personnel division at the Ministry of Digital Finance. Jenaphop’s wife, Noppanapa, serves as the digital finance minister and has a spotless public record. Munin secretly investigates her sister’s death. She enters the ministry looking like Mutta, meets Wikit, who loves Mutta, and then plots to upend Noppanapa’s life by using Jenaphop.
The drama is directed by Ku Eksit Trakulkasemsuk and produced by Keng Kwang Gang, with scripts by Srangsan Santimaneerat and Sethinan Jariyawilas.
Raeng Ngao premiered on oneD PREMIUM on Friday, October 23, 2026, and airs every Friday and Saturday at 8:30 p.m. On One31, it has aired since Monday, October 26, 2026, every Monday and Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Thailand time.
