LayarHijau – Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become the latest blockbuster targeted by online piracy. A full bootleg recording of the film surfaced on social media shortly after its theatrical release, reaching millions of accounts before it was removed.
According to Variety (via Screen Rant), an X account operating under the name Frederick Bryan uploaded a complete unauthorized recording of the movie. Before the post was taken down roughly nine hours later, it had reached approximately 5.9 million accounts, collected more than 143,000 likes, and was shared over 10,000 times.

After the original upload disappeared, copies quickly spread through other accounts. However, those reposts were also removed soon afterward. Sony has not publicly commented on the incident.
The situation follows a similar piracy case involving Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which also stars Tom Holland and Zendaya. A bootleg version of that film reportedly accumulated around 2.1 million views in just two and a half hours before being taken offline.
At the time, Universal Pictures said it had immediately launched takedown efforts after discovering the unauthorized upload and emphasized that it would pursue appropriate measures to protect its copyrighted content and intellectual property.
Despite the widespread circulation of pirated copies online, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has continued to dominate the North American box office. The Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures release earned an impressive US$72 million in preview screenings, setting a new record by surpassing Avengers: Endgame.
Industry estimates project the film’s opening day, including previews, at US$167 million to US$173 million. For comparison, Avengers: Endgame generated US$157 million on its first day in theaters.
Although Sony has yet to announce the official figures, early projections suggest the film’s domestic opening could exceed US$330 million after playing in 4,487 theaters across North America.
Led by Tom Holland, Zendaya, and a star-studded ensemble, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is proving that strong audience demand can overcome even large-scale online piracy, continuing its record-breaking run at the summer box office.
