As of the morning of Saturday, August 8, the latest installment starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker had attracted more than 5 million moviegoers at South Korean theaters. The milestone was reached on the film’s 11th day in theaters.

The achievement makes Spider-Man: Brand New Day the fastest film released in South Korea in 2026 to surpass the 5 million mark.
The film reached the milestone seven days faster than The King’s Warden (왕과 사는 남자), which took 18 days to draw more than 5 million moviegoers.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is also closing in on Colony (군체), which currently ranks second among the films with the highest cumulative attendance in South Korea this year. Colony has attracted approximately 5.95 million moviegoers.
If its current pace continues, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to overtake Colony soon and move into second place among the year’s most-watched films in the South Korean market.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. After everyone forgets Peter Parker’s identity, he is forced to continue his life as Spider-Man without the people closest to him knowing who he really is.
His situation takes another dangerous turn when a mysterious enemy appears who remembers his true identity. At the same time, a DNA mutation gives Peter increasingly uncontrollable powers, drawing him into a new wave of chaos.
Peter must confront the emerging threat while doing everything he can to protect the people who still matter to him.
The strong performance in South Korea adds to Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s momentum in the global box office market. The film has continued to set new milestones since its release, highlighting the strong audience interest in Tom Holland’s return as the iconic Marvel superhero.
