LayarHijau – Unlike many previous Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Spider-Man: Brand New Day does not feature a traditional post-credits scene that directly announces or sets up a specific upcoming project. However, Sony and Marvel still leave fans with a mysterious final tease that could reveal where Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is heading next.
Since the beginning of the MCU with Iron Man (2008), Marvel Studios has frequently used post-credits scenes to introduce future storylines, new characters, or upcoming films. But Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes a different approach by avoiding a straightforward setup for another movie.

The decision comes at a time when Marvel’s upcoming slate offers only a few obvious possibilities. The confirmed major releases include Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, along with newly announced projects such as Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3. Meanwhile, Marvel and Sony have yet to officially announce Spider-Man 5, leaving fewer options for what the latest Spider-Man film could directly tease.
Instead of a post-credits scene similar to Thunderbolts*, which clearly connected its story to Avengers: Doomsday, Spider-Man: Brand New Day delivers a much more cryptic message.
During the early part of the credits, audiences are shown various scenes around New York City. Then, at the very end, the film brings back the Spidey Tracker, a device created by Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon).
The tracker initially detects Spider-Man’s location in Queens. However, the signal suddenly disappears, forcing the system to search again. After scanning the planet, the device eventually finds Spider-Man somewhere far beyond Earth.
The exact location remains unknown because the tracker glitches several times before successfully identifying his position.
Moments later, the screen cuts to black and displays a familiar Marvel-style message:
“Spider-Man will return.”
The statement confirms that Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker will appear again in the MCU. However, Marvel and Sony have not revealed whether his next appearance will happen in Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, or another future project.
Could Spider-Man Join the Fight Against Doctor Doom?
One possible explanation is that the teaser is setting up Spider-Man’s involvement in Avengers: Doomsday.
The upcoming Avengers film will introduce a massive conflict involving Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., and several major MCU characters. However, Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed Tom Holland’s involvement.
When the cast announcement for Avengers: Doomsday was revealed, Holland’s name was notably absent. This led to speculation that Spider-Man might not appear because the events of Brand New Day could overlap with the timeline of the Avengers movie.
The latest Spider-Man film could also provide a story-based explanation for his absence. Within the MCU, Peter Parker may simply be dealing with a threat that does not put him at the center of a universe-level conflict.
That does not completely rule out a surprise appearance, though. Marvel has a long history of hiding major cameos until release, meaning Spider-Man could still appear unexpectedly in Avengers: Doomsday.
Could the Tracker Have Found Another Spider-Man From the Multiverse?
Another possibility is that the Spidey Tracker detected a different version of Spider-Man from another universe.
After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, audiences already know that multiple Spider-Man variants exist across the multiverse. The mysterious signal could potentially belong to another version of the character, including variants played by Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, or a completely new Spider-Man.
The teaser could also suggest that Peter Parker himself has been transported to another universe. The concept of multiverse collisions, known as incursions, has been an important part of Marvel’s Multiverse Saga and could become a major factor leading into Avengers: Secret Wars.
If that happens, Spider-Man may become involved because he is trapped in a universe connected to the larger multiversal crisis.
Is Spider-Man Being Set Up for Battleworld?
One of the biggest theories surrounding the post-credits tease is that Spider-Man could be heading toward Battleworld, a major location from Marvel’s Secret Wars comic storylines.
In the comics, Battleworld has appeared in different forms. The original 1984 version was created by the Beyonder as a battlefield where heroes and villains fought, while the 2015 version was a world formed from the remains of destroyed universes and ruled by Doctor Doom.
If Avengers: Secret Wars follows elements from those comics, Battleworld could become a key setting in the MCU’s future.
The Spidey Tracker locating Peter somewhere in space would also fit this theory, since Battleworld is not a normal planet but a world created from fragments of different realities.
If the teaser is indeed pointing toward Battleworld, fans may not see Holland’s Spider-Man return until Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to arrive in late 2027.
When Will Spider-Man Return?
At this point, the two strongest possibilities are Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Although Spider-Man appearing in Doomsday remains possible, Marvel may choose to save his return for Secret Wars, which is expected to be one of the biggest MCU events ever and potentially even larger than Avengers: Endgame.
There are also practical reasons for Marvel to hold back certain appearances. With an already enormous lineup of heroes in Doomsday, introducing too many surprise characters could reduce the impact of future reveals.
The post-credits tease from Spider-Man: Brand New Day appears designed to keep fans guessing rather than provide a clear answer. If Marvel wanted to confirm his appearance in Avengers: Doomsday, the final message could have named that film specifically.
Of course, Marvel and Sony could also be intentionally hiding Holland’s role in the upcoming Avengers movie. The studio has frequently kept major surprises secret until the final moment.
Regardless of when it happens, the message is clear: Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will return. And based on the mysterious Spidey Tracker teaser, his next adventure may take him far beyond the streets of Queens and into a much larger multiverse conflict.
