According to Michelle Chen, her sister is a longtime fan of Zhang Linghe and even adjusted her schedule several times to attend the promotional event.
“My mom said my sister was sick. My sister even said she had a kind of illness that could only be cured by seeing Zhang Linghe,” Michelle Chen joked.
The confession immediately made Zhang Linghe burst into laughter. The actor, who plays Mu Rong Qingyi in Overdo, then turned to Michelle Chen and her sister and asked, “So, are you cured now?”
The playful exchange quickly became a trending topic on Weibo, with many viewers amused by Zhang Linghe’s natural and adorable reaction.
Michelle Chen’s sister also took the opportunity to express her admiration for the actor in person.
“Zhang Linghe, I have liked you for many years. You are handsome, you have such a great presence, and your acting is amazing. I have been staying up late these past few days watching Overdo,” she said.
Hearing the heartfelt compliment, Zhang Linghe could not stop smiling and appeared visibly shy. After thinking for a moment, he responded, “I’m really sorry for making you change your schedule so many times.”
The warm interaction between Zhang Linghe and Michelle Chen’s sister drew praise from viewers. Many fans said they understood why she wanted to meet him in person and also praised Michelle Chen for being supportive of her sister.
After the event, Michelle Chen shared the moment on Weibo, saying she was happy to help her sister meet her idol and that it was her first time experiencing a drama couple’s chemistry in person.
“Helping my sister successfully meet her idol. This is my first time watching a CP interaction at the event, and it was so much fun!” Michelle Chen wrote.
She also praised Zhang Linghe’s character Mu Rong Qingyi in Overdo, saying the actor looked like a true gentleman in the historical costume.
Michelle Chen added that she had heard the story would become even more intense in the upcoming episodes and said she was looking forward to seeing more emotional conflicts between the characters.
