In its promotional campaign, Mount Emei officials said the fighting spirit displayed by the characters in Kung Fu Soccer reflects the philosophy of Emei martial arts, a tradition that has been passed down for more than a thousand years. Visitors are encouraged to turn the passion they felt while watching the film into a real-life adventure at Mount Emei, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich martial arts heritage.
The summer campaign, titled Summer at Mount Emei: Mid-Mountain Retreat, runs from July 3 to September 22, 2026. The program focuses on the mountain’s mid-altitude area, known for its lush ancient forests, fresh air rich in negative ions, gentle hiking trails, and peaceful streams that provide a cool escape from the summer heat.
As part of the promotion, adult visitors can purchase discounted admission tickets for 80 yuan (about $11) per person. Guests eligible for government-supported concession rates can enjoy an even lower price of 40 yuan (about $5.50).
Visitors can register through Mount Emei’s official online channels, on-site service centers, or authorized partner platforms. Once approved, the admission pass remains valid for 48 hours and is tied to the registered visitor’s identification.
The discounted package grants access to several of Mount Emei’s most popular attractions in the mid-mountain area, including Qingyin Pavilion, Wannian Temple, and the famous Ecological Monkey Zone, one of the mountain’s signature tourist destinations.
However, the promotion does not include access to higher-altitude attractions such as Leidongping and the iconic Golden Summit, nor does it cover transportation services within those areas. Visitors planning to reach the Golden Summit are advised to purchase regular admission tickets.
Beyond discounted admission, Mount Emei has also introduced nine themed summer activities designed for a wide range of visitors, including recent graduates, families, hiking enthusiasts, and educational tour groups.
The lineup includes graduation season specials, hiking challenges, events celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mount Emei’s designation as a dual UNESCO World Heritage Site, leisurely trekking experiences, cultural and environmental education programs, eco-friendly volunteer activities, nighttime nature study sessions, and a children’s museum docent program at the Mount Emei Museum.
Park officials also reminded visitors that although some routes are suitable for casual hikers, Mount Emei remains a mountainous destination with significant elevation changes. People with heart disease, cardiovascular conditions, severe joint disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, respiratory illnesses, or other health conditions that make mountain climbing unsafe are advised not to participate in hiking activities.
Visitors are also asked not to enter the scenic area after 6:00 p.m., as the park does not allow nighttime visits.
Through the campaign, Mount Emei hopes that audiences inspired by Kung Fu Soccer will experience more than the martial arts action seen on screen by discovering the mountain’s centuries-old kung fu heritage and spectacular natural scenery in person.
