LayarHijau – A viral clip showing Liu Yuning appearing to push Gong Jun during the filming of a variety show has sparked heated debate across Chinese social media. The footage fueled a fan war between their fandoms before both stars stepped forward to clarify what happened and urged fans to stop arguing.
The controversy began with a clip filmed during the recording of Wow the World Season 2 (地球超新鮮). After finishing a mud pit game, the cast members were standing on a platform about one meter (3.3 feet) high while waiting for instructions from the production team.

In the clip, Liu Yuning appears to nudge Gong Jun with his elbow, causing the actor to briefly lose his balance. From one camera angle, Gong Jun looks as though he is about to fall off the platform. However, he quickly regains his footing without falling or getting hurt. Moments later, Gong Jun laughs it off and playfully teases Liu Yuning, showing there were no hard feelings between them.
The controversy escalated after an edited version of the clip spread widely online. Some social media accounts shared only the moment when Liu Yuning elbowed Gong Jun, prompting some of Gong Jun’s fans to accuse Liu Yuning of deliberately pushing him and demand a public apology.
Liu Yuning’s fans responded by posting a longer version of the footage, arguing that the viral clip had been taken out of context. In the full video, Gong Jun immediately pulls Liu Yuning into the mud pit, suggesting the pair were simply joking around as part of the show’s lighthearted banter rather than trying to hurt one another.
The disagreement between the two fandoms quickly intensified, with related topics repeatedly trending on social media.
Liu Yuning later revealed that he didn’t learn about the controversy until he finished work. He had spent the entire day filming the drama Iron Evidence (鐵證) while also recording Wow the World Season 2, leaving him with no opportunity to check his phone.
Joking about the situation, Liu Yuning said he felt as though “the sky had fallen” when he discovered the clip had become a major online topic.
In a series of social media posts, Liu Yuning stressed that he had already spoken privately with Gong Jun.
“Gong Jun and I have already talked about it. For us, this isn’t a big deal,” he wrote.
He also said he would be more careful in the future.
“If I did anything inappropriate, I’ll be more careful going forward. Please don’t attack anyone. Let’s end this here,” he added.
Liu Yuning also explained that he had been keeping a low profile recently because he was busy filming Iron Evidence. He added that nearly everything he does has been picked apart online in recent weeks.
Gong Jun also addressed the incident through a voice message, making it clear that he and Liu Yuning remain close friends while encouraging fans to simply enjoy the show.
“My relationship with Liu is very good. We’re good friends—really good friends. Just enjoy the variety show,” Gong Jun said.
The two also put their friendship on display on Weibo. Gong Jun commented under Liu Yuning’s post, writing, “Liu, next time I’ll take you to Chengdu’s No. 1 pig trotter restaurant.”
Liu Yuning quickly replied, “Sounds good! Dinner’s on me.”
Their friendly exchange was widely seen as putting an end to the controversy. Both stars emphasized that there was no conflict between them and urged fans to stop attacking each other online and simply enjoy Wow the World Season 2.
