After the drama ended, the production team released a spin-off variety show featuring Song Weilong and Zhang Jingyi during their camping trip together.
In the latest episode, Zhang Jingyi was driving while Song Weilong sat in the passenger seat. During their journey, Zhang Jingyi asked Song Weilong to play music using her phone.
After the music started playing, Song Weilong handed the phone toward Zhang Jingyi, seemingly asking his co-star to unlock the device using Face ID. Since Zhang Jingyi was focused on driving, she smiled and said, “Come on, I already told you.”
Zhang Jingyi’s remark immediately caught the attention of Chinese netizens. Some viewers believed that Song Weilong had already known his co-star’s phone password. Some said their interaction felt so ambiguous that outsiders could not help but wonder how close the two actually were. They pointed out that a phone password is highly personal information and is rarely shared even with ordinary friends. Some even commented, “If they are not a couple, then what are they?” Many others praised Song Weilong and Zhang Jingyi’s interaction, saying it felt relaxed, natural, and not like something deliberately created for the camera.
Before the drama aired, Song Weilong and Zhang Jingyi had already attracted attention when they appeared together at a New Year’s Eve event. The two sang together and played with an instant camera on stage. Their natural chemistry made many viewers hope they would reunite in another project.
The Love for You spin-off variety show has also delivered many sweet moments. In one segment, Song Weilong gave Zhang Jingyi a bridal veil. He explained that their characters did not have the chance to take wedding photos in the drama, so the moment was created to fulfill fans’ wishes.
Zhang Jingyi then wore the bridal veil, while the two posed in several close and affectionate ways, including leaning toward each other and hugging, which further excited fans.
In the latest episode, Song Weilong also praised Zhang Jingyi’s singing voice while they were in the car. He even used the instant camera he had prepared to take photos of Zhang Jingyi and complimented her beauty, saying that she looked very beautiful in person.
Previously, when asked about the possibility of working together again, Zhang Jingyi said she would like to try a fantasy genre project. Meanwhile, Song Weilong expressed interest in starring in a road trip-themed drama. Zhang Jingyi agreed with the idea, making many fans look forward to seeing the two reunite in another project.
