In the final chapters of the story, Yang Zi’s character Li Zhen successfully exposes all the evidence proving her former fiancé Tian Benchang’s betrayal. However, the revelation also uncovers the truth behind a tragedy that has haunted her family for years. It turns out that the fire that claimed her father’s reputation while he was delivering tribute ink was orchestrated by subordinates acting under the orders of Luo Wenqian’s father, all to protect the Luo family’s standing.

Meanwhile, Li Zhen faces the challenge of defending the honor of Ming ink craftsmanship. Guided by her grandfather Li Jingshui, she succeeds in creating the legendary Liuhe Ink, enabling her to overcome the foreign challenge and restore her family’s prestige.
After witnessing the fulfillment of his lifelong wish and seeing his family’s name redeemed, Li Jingshui passes away peacefully. Li Zhen then steps forward as the new leader of the Li inkmakers, carrying on the family legacy.
By the end of the series, Li Zhen and Luo Wenqian finally resolve the misunderstandings and painful history that kept them apart. After enduring betrayal, loss, and years of separation, they are ultimately rewarded with a happy ending together.
The finale has also drawn praise for Elvis Han’s performance. Although his screen time is relatively limited, viewers commended his portrayal of both the emotional exile scenes and the restrained tenderness of the reunion three years later. In addition, the touching grandfather-granddaughter bond between Tian Xiaojie’s character and Yang Zi’s Li Zhen resonated strongly with audiences and became one of the drama’s most emotional highlights.
