China has experienced widespread flooding since the start of this year’s flood season, with heavy rainfall affecting multiple regions across the northeast, north, and south of the country. In Guangxi, days of intense rain triggered severe flooding and put several reservoirs at risk. On July 6, emergency situations were reported at multiple reservoirs in the cities of Nanning and Guigang, prompting authorities to step up flood control measures and evacuation efforts.
According to Chinese state media, the floods affected around 55,000 people, while more than 48,000 residents were evacuated to safer areas. The central government also activated an emergency response, deploying rescue teams and emergency supplies to assist affected communities and accelerate disaster relief operations.
The 4,000 family emergency relief kits distributed through Tomorrow Charity Foundation each contain more than 20 essential medical and daily necessities, including thermal blankets, emergency whistles, raincoats, antiseptic cotton swabs, disinfectant gel, medical bandages, sterile gauze, towels, sulfur soap, tissues, adhesive bandages, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and multifunctional solar-powered flashlights equipped with warning lights and emergency alarms.
Tan Jianci, who is originally from Guangxi, also made a separate donation of 1 million yuan to the China Social Assistance Foundation to support flood relief efforts in his hometown.
Meanwhile, according to the Beijing New Sunshine Charity Foundation, the Huanlan Dream Public Welfare Foundation, initiated by Wang Junkai, responded quickly by purchasing and delivering urgently needed relief supplies to flood-stricken areas in Guangxi.
Actor Zhang Linghe also contributed through One Foundation by helping provide the first batch of emergency supplies for communities affected by the disaster.
In addition, actress Zhang Tianai teamed up with singer Zhang Liangying to provide further assistance after assessing the needs of residents in the affected areas. Together, they purchased 1,450 daily necessities kits containing toiletries, tableware, hygiene products, disinfectants, and personal protective items. They also donated 5,912 bottles of drinking water, which are being delivered in stages without disrupting rescue and transportation operations.
The charitable efforts of these celebrities have been widely praised by Chinese netizens, who expressed hope that the donations will help ease the burden on affected families as recovery work continues across Guangxi.
