LayarHijau— The rising screen couple Deng Kai and Snow Kong are once again capturing public attention after their extraordinary success in the historical drama Pursuit of Jade (逐玉). In that series, Deng Kai played the antagonistic prince Qi Min, while Snow Kong portrayed Yu Qianqian, an escaped concubine. The intense relationship between their characters created a massive wave of popularity, leading fans to dub them the “Bu Qi Er Yu” couple. Now, the two are confirmed to reunite in a new project titled The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage (將門獨后), which stars Dylan Wang and Meng Ziyi as the leads.
Their popularity in Pursuit of Jade was well-deserved. The plot, featuring Qi Min’s obsession to the point of imprisoning Yu Qianqian with iron chains to fulfill his possessive desires, created an explosive chemistry among viewers. Topics regarding them on Douyin have surpassed 1.8 billion views, and their collaborative magazine sold over 6,500 copies, generating 400,000 Yuan in revenue. This success has many fans eagerly anticipating the new dynamics they will display in The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage, as the contract for this second collaboration was reportedly signed even before their first drama aired.

In The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage, Snow Kong will play the character Shen Yue, the ambitious and cunning cousin of the protagonist Shen Miao, played by Meng Ziyi. Shen Yue is depicted as seeking refuge with the enemy crown prince, Huangfu Hao, played by Deng Kai. Although Huangfu Hao takes Shen Yue in as a concubine, he is actually using her identity to steal secret information. This shift from the dark obsession of their previous drama to an alliance full of political intrigue provides a fresh perspective on their acting that fans are highly anticipating.
