LayarHijau – A man in his 30s has been arrested for alleged sexual assault in South Korea, with the case quickly going viral both domestically and internationally, including in Indonesia. Public attention intensified after speculation emerged linking the suspect to the family of a K-pop idol, including claims that he may be Jisoo BLACKPINK’s brother. However, authorities have not disclosed the suspect’s identity.

According to reports on April 17, Gangnam Police arrested a man identified as B at his residence after receiving a report from a female BJ (internet broadcaster). The arrest was made a day after the alleged incident.

The case reportedly began through a “meal date” livestream donation, a system that allows fans to meet broadcasters privately. The suspect is said to have paid around 3 million won (USD 2,025) for the meeting. After having dinner and drinks at a restaurant in Gangnam, he allegedly took the victim to his home.

The victim stated that the suspect had promised not to engage in sexual contact. However, she claims that once at the residence, he initiated non-consensual physical contact and attempted sexual assault. Despite repeated refusals, she alleges that he ignored her objections. Feeling threatened, she hid in the bathroom and contacted an acquaintance, who then called the police. Officers arrived and arrested the suspect at the scene.

The suspect admits that physical contact occurred but denies any use of force. Police are continuing their investigation, including reviewing the possibility of upgrading the charges based on the victim’s claims, as well as whether to seek a detention warrant.

The case drew further attention after several Korean media reports described the suspect as being known as a family member of a popular girl group member. This detail quickly fueled widespread speculation online.

Korean netizens began linking the case to specific idols using indirect hints such as “a member from the black-pink group” or “a four-member girl group.” Some users went further by naming individuals directly and referencing past rumors.

The speculation soon spread globally, including in Indonesia, with growing claims that the suspect is Jisoo BLACKPINK’s brother.

However, police have not publicly disclosed the suspect’s identity or confirmed any connection to a celebrity. As a result, all such claims remain unverified.

Authorities stated that they will continue investigating the case based on statements from both the victim and the suspect to determine the full sequence of events. The public is urged to refrain from spreading unverified information as the case remains under investigation.
