LayarHijau – The Chinese drama Love Beyond the Grave (白日提燈) has been gaining widespread attention. But behind its popularity, a lighthearted moment during a live broadcast unexpectedly revealed a “hidden secret” about its leading star, Dilraba Dilmurat.

During the livestream, the actress casually shared that she suffers from severe myopia, reaching 600 degrees. She even joked that without glasses, she “can barely see anything.” In public appearances, she often relies on contact lenses or continues working despite blurred vision.

The moment became even more amusing when her co-star, Chen Feiyu, quickly played along. When asked which of the five senses she would swap, Dilraba jokingly said she would “give away” her nearsightedness as a “buy one, get one free” deal. Hearing that, Chen Feiyu immediately responded, “So when we were filming, have you ever actually seen me clearly?”—sending everyone into laughter.

Dilraba had previously admitted that once she takes off her glasses, she can barely see clearly. Even her sunglasses have to be custom-made with prescription lenses. To maintain her on-camera appearance and avoid marks on the bridge of her nose from glasses, she mostly depends on contact lenses during public events.

However, this habit comes with consequences. In her daily life, she is often seen wearing thick prescription glasses and has developed a habit of squinting. Some fans also revisited past moments showing her professionalism despite her vision limitations.

One particularly notable example was when she had to wear contact lenses for extended filming hours—sometimes over 12 hours straight—which once led to irritation and even conjunctivitis. Despite that, she continued working and completed her scenes professionally.

For long shots or wide-angle scenes, Dilraba sometimes chooses not to wear glasses at all. Instead, she relies on experience and instinct to find her marks and timing. When she cannot clearly see her co-star’s expressions, she focuses on listening to dialogue cues to carry the scene.

Interestingly, many viewers have praised her expressive eyes, often describing them as emotional and full of depth. Unbeknownst to them, part of that effect comes from her blurred vision, creating a natural sense of distance, while the rest is sustained purely by her acting skills.
