LayarHijau — Hyun Bin has left the final say on romantic roles to his wife, Son Ye-jin. He made the remark while attending events tied to the 47th Blue Dragon Film Awards on Tuesday (Nov. 3).
During an interview, Hyun Bin was asked what he would think if he had the chance to act in romantic scenes with another actress. He answered, “If she doesn’t let me do it, the outcome is basically already decided.”

His answer was a response to an earlier comment by Son Ye-jin. When she was asked the same question, she said she would be grateful if Hyun Bin acted with her. But when the topic turned to Hyun Bin starring in a romance drama or film, she changed her answer to, “I’d have to think about that one.” Hyun Bin apparently remembered her words and replied to them directly in public.
The topic also recalls the jokes that have circulated since Son Ye-jin starred in the Netflix series The Scandal alongside Ji Chang-wook, which premiered Sept. 18. Asked about his romantic scenes with Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook joked that many people say the whole country is waiting for Hyun Bin’s reaction, but he wasn’t worried at all and his only crime was loving the character Lady Cho. The official Blue Dragon account then posted a still of the two nearly kissing, edited to show Hyun Bin’s face as if he were watching. Son Ye-jin joined in with a comment under the post: “Honey… what are you doing here?” In a Sept. 29 interview, Son Ye-jin revealed that Hyun Bin himself had sent her the image, with a short reply of “lol.”
Besides that exchange, the two posed together for a photo making a heart sign. Another moment that caught netizens’ attention came when Son Ye-jin instinctively turned to look at Hyun Bin after making a mistake at the event. Netizens praised the spontaneous gesture as very natural.
Asked whether they want to work together again, the two answered in unison that they would like to try an action film or a scene of a married couple arguing. The answer immediately raised fans’ hopes.
