LayarHijau – The costume drama Pursuit of Jade (逐玉), starring Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei, has been drawing massive attention since its release. Its popularity has even been described as a phenomenon, with online discussions surging as the story unfolds.
Beyond social media buzz, the drama has also seen a sharp spike in search interest. Pursuit of Jade ranked No.1 on the “rising search queries” list on Google Trends over the past month. According to World Journal, the surge was especially notable in Taiwan, where search volume increased by more than 5,000 percent during that period.

One of the most talked-about moments recently is the scene in Episode 38, often referred to as the “bathhouse kiss and consummation scene.” A preview clip was released in advance, featuring soft, visually stunning shots that quickly sparked heated discussion among viewers.
In several interviews, Zhang Linghe shared that this scene left a strong impression on him. He initially thought the prop would be a small wooden tub, but was surprised to find a large bath that could accommodate multiple people. He even expressed how much he liked it, saying it felt novel and interesting to him as someone from southern China.
Zhang Linghe also revealed that filming the scene was more challenging than it looked. Due to water resistance, their movements became much harder to control. He jokingly described the experience as feeling like they were “fighting in the water,” which only made fans even more eager to see the full scene.
Amid the success of Pursuit of Jade, Zhang Linghe’s other projects are also gaining traction. His modern romance drama with Xu Ruohan, The Best Thing (爱你), has returned to the weekly drama popularity chart on iQIYI for two consecutive weeks.
Meanwhile, his upcoming drama Overdo (这一秒过火), also produced by iQIYI, continues to attract growing attention ahead of its release. In this project, Zhang Linghe stars alongside Wang Churan. Set in Republican-era Shanghai, he plays the son of a warlord, Mu Rong Qingyi, who becomes entangled in a forbidden relationship with Ren Susu, a mysterious woman living a double life.
Zhang Linghe’s sharp and charismatic appearance in military uniform, combined with the drama’s fate-driven storyline teased in previews, has further raised expectations for his performance in the series.
