LayarHijau – Chinese actor Wei Zheming is once again in the spotlight after gaining fame for his role as the secondary villain in Flourished Peony. This time, he stars alongside Zheng Hehuizi in the new romantic drama You Are My Fateful Love, which has quickly surpassed 10 million views since its premiere. Their on-screen chemistry has become a major talking point, with many viewers predicting they could become one of the most talked-about onscreen pairs of Spring 2026.
You Are My Fateful Love, adapted from the novel by Gu Liao Zhi, follows Xu Huaisong (Wei Zheming) and Ruan Yu (Zheng Hehuizi), two high school sweethearts who missed their chance due to a misunderstanding. Ten years later, they unexpectedly reunite. Xu Huaisong has become a cold, professional elite lawyer and ends up helping Ruan Yu, who faces a plagiarism controversy after writing a novel inspired by her secret high school crush. As they work together, they gradually realize that the feelings they thought were one-sided never truly disappeared.

Wei Zheming’s portrayal of Xu Huaisong is a highlight of the drama. With his tailored suit and gold-rimmed glasses, he is portrayed as the “ideal first love in the workplace.” Yet behind his cold demeanor, Xu Huaisong carefully plots to maintain his image while getting closer to Ruan Yu, creating a fascinating contrast that keeps viewers intrigued.
Zheng Hehuizi, on the other hand, is widely recognized for her adaptability with co-stars. She previously appeared alongside Liu Xueyi in the costume drama In Blossom (Hua Jian Ling), and even with only three episodes, their chemistry drew significant attention. She also appeared in Twelve Letters with Ren Youlun, though the two were not the main romantic leads.
Zheng Hehuizi’s popularity is further reflected in the overwhelming support she receives from her fellow artists. Actor Bai Jingting showed support by referring to her as “supporting the great writer Ruan Yu,” recalling their partnership in Rush to the Dead Summer several years ago. Actress Qin Lan also praised her acting skills, noting that she works hard despite her naturally strong screen presence. Meanwhile, Chen Duling cleverly linked her support to the drama’s storyline, as if “prompting updates for the novel,” echoing the plot.
Additionally, other actors such as Bao Shang’en, Kong Xue’er, and Xu Ruohan also promoted the drama simultaneously. This collective support, representing nearly “half the entertainment industry,” further highlights You Are My Fateful Love as one of the must-watch romantic dramas of the year.
