In the finale, the central conflict that has driven the story from the beginning is finally resolved. The female lead, Fan Changyu (Tian Xiwei), completes her long-awaited revenge in a deeply personal way—using the knife techniques taught by her father, she personally kills Prince Changxin, the mastermind behind the bloody Jinzhou massacre 17 years ago. For her achievements, she is granted the title of General Huaihua, marking her transformation into a respected military figure.
Meanwhile, the male lead Xie Zheng (Zhang Linghe) rises to the height of power after suppressing the rebellion and is appointed as Regent Prince. Together with Fan Changyu, he uncovers the truth behind the long-buried tragedy. It is revealed that Fan Changyu’s biological father, Wei Qilin, was a loyal general under the Xie family who was silenced for holding key evidence related to the Jinzhou case. Another key figure, Prime Minister Wei Yan, is exposed as a traitor who colluded with enemy forces and ultimately takes his own life by poison after his defeat.
With justice finally served and the truth brought to light, Fan Changyu and Xie Zheng choose to step away from the dangerous world of politics. They return to Lin’an to live a quiet and ordinary life, bringing their journey to a peaceful close after enduring years of bloodshed and संघर्ष.
On the antagonist side, the story reaches a tragic climax as well. Sui Yuanqing, the heir of Prince Changxin, is betrayed and killed by Qi Min—who is the son of the Crown Prince Chengde and the grandson of the late emperor. Qi Min’s attempt to seize the throne ultimately fails, and after being severely wounded and captured, he ends his life in prison by drinking poisoned soup served by his own wife, Yu Qianqian.
The power structure then shifts dramatically. Qi Min’s son, Bao’er, ascends the throne as the new Emperor of Dayin, while Yu Qianqian becomes Empress Dowager. At the same time, Fan Changning is elevated to the position of Empress, signaling the beginning of a new era after a long period of turmoil.
With a well-rounded ending that resolves its major conflicts while opening the door to a hopeful future, Pursuit of Jade successfully delivers a satisfying conclusion for viewers who have followed the characters’ journey from the very beginning.
