LayarHijau – Bai Yu and Zhang Ruonan recently addressed questions about the ending of Live Up to Your Youth during a livestream. Instead of giving direct spoilers, the two delivered playful and carefully worded responses that quickly caught the internet’s attention.
When asked whether the story of the main characters would have a satisfying ending, Bai Yu answered with a straight face, “If the ending is good, then it’s good.” Meanwhile, when Zhang Ruonan was pressed about the fate of her character Zhuang Zhuang, she blinked and said, “You’ll just have to watch Zhuang Zhuang’s ending yourself.”

This “reverse spoiler” strategy shows a sharp understanding of audience psychology. In an era where spoilers often drive attention, revealing too much can weaken the viewing experience, while total secrecy risks losing buzz. By responding with humor and leaving room for interpretation, Bai Yu and Zhang Ruonan managed to avoid controversy while keeping discussions alive.
On social media, viewers began forming their own theories. Some speculated, “It might be a good ending, but the journey will be heartbreaking,” while others questioned whether Zhuang Zhuang would end up happy or face a tragic fate. This kind of engagement turns audiences from passive viewers into active participants, expanding the conversation around the drama.
More importantly, the exchange highlights the actors’ respect for the story. Live Up to Your Youth is known for its grounded, realistic portrayal of personal struggles and growth. By preserving the mystery, Bai Yu and Zhang Ruonan help maintain the emotional impact of the finale.
At a time when many productions rely on heavy spoilers for attention, this approach feels refreshingly thoughtful. Rather than giving everything away, they chose to build anticipation in a more creative way. As one viewer put it, “With spoilers like this, I’d gladly watch it again.”
With excitement continuing to grow, audiences are now even more eager to see how Live Up to Your Youth will conclude its story—and whether the ending will truly live up to expectations.
