LayarHijau – The first concept trailer for Wang Xingyue and Deng Enxi’s upcoming modern drama has quickly captured public attention. Titled A Love Confession (电视剧告白), the project showcases a different side of Wang Xingyue, who has long been associated with calm, calculated characters in costume dramas. This time, he steps into a modern role with emotions that feel more direct and expressive.
The released concept video highlights an intimate atmosphere with soft lighting and close framing. One of the most talked-about moments features Wang Xingyue’s character suddenly pulling Deng Enxi’s character behind a curtain and kissing her. The scene is filmed in a poetic yet intense manner, creating strong romantic tension. It immediately sparked lively discussion online, with many viewers praising the fresh chemistry between the two leads and noting how different it feels from Wang Xingyue’s previous works.

A Love Confession is adapted from the novel of the same name by Ying Cheng. The story follows Xu Sui (Deng Enxi), a quiet girl who has secretly loved Zhou Jingze (Wang Xingyue) since high school. A misunderstanding forces them apart, sending them down separate life paths. Ten years later, they reunite under very different circumstances.

Xu Sui has grown into a confident and accomplished surgeon. Meanwhile, Zhou Jingze, now working as a pilot, finds himself at a low point in his life. Their reunion reopens old wounds but also offers a second chance. As they reconnect, their relationship gradually evolves from awkward tension to the courage to finally confess feelings that once went unspoken.
The concept trailer emphasizes a rekindled first-love theme with a realistic touch. Beyond romantic scenes, it also presents emotional conflict, lingering regret in their gazes, and quiet moments heavy with meaning. Many viewers believe this project could become Wang Xingyue’s representative work in the modern romance genre.
Before A Love Confession, Wang Xingyue rose to prominence through costume dramas such as Scent of Time and The Double. His popularity surged even further after reuniting with Bai Lu in Unveil: Jadewind (唐宫奇案之青雾风鸣), where he portrayed Xiao Huaijin, a brilliant strategist devoted to protecting Bai Lu’s character.
Wang Xingyue and Bai Lu have collaborated three times in total. They previously appeared together in One and Only and Story of Kunning Palace before reuniting in Unveil: Jadewind. Their emotionally charged dynamics in past projects have consistently drawn strong audience reactions, making each new collaboration highly anticipated.
Now, with A Love Confession, Wang Xingyue appears ready to broaden his acting range. While he is known for composed and strategic roles in historical dramas, this modern romance allows him to portray a more vulnerable and emotionally open character. His chemistry with Deng Enxi has become the drama’s main attraction, heightening anticipation for its official release.
