LayarHijau– Rumors that the drama Meet Yourself (去有風的地方) is preparing its second season have sparked lively discussion across social media. The news immediately excited fans of Xie Zhiyao and Xu Hongdou. According to circulating information, the production team hopes to bring back the original cast and is actively checking Li Xian’s schedule, while Yunnan is once again rumored to be the main filming location. The topic quickly climbed trending lists and drew widespread attention.
First aired in 2023, Meet Yourself is known as a healing drama with a pastoral setting. Liu Yifei stars as Xu Hongdou, a career-driven woman who decides to pause her fast-paced life after her close friend passes away from cancer. Her journey leads her to Yunnan, where she meets Xie Zhiyao (Li Xian), a young man who has returned to his hometown to contribute to local development. From this quiet encounter, a gentle and slowly unfolding love story begins.

Upon its release, Meet Yourself received an overwhelmingly positive response. The drama earned a Douban rating of 8.8 and surpassed 1.6 billion views. Many viewers were deeply drawn to its message that “it’s okay to slow down.” From the warm daily life at Youfeng Courtyard to the understated romance between Xu Hongdou and Xie Zhiyao, the drama resonated through its calm rhythm rather than dramatic twists. With no excessive melodrama, it offered comfort through everyday moments and simple conversations.
The impact extended beyond the screen. Following the drama’s popularity, tourism in Yunnan saw a noticeable boost. The idea of “one drama revitalizing one city” became a reality, prompting the local government to formally issue a letter of appreciation to the production team.
After rumors of season 2 emerged, viewers made their stance clear. More than 70 percent of netizens insisted they would only watch if Liu Yifei and Li Xian returned as the leads. Many believe the chemistry between Xu Hongdou and Xie Zhiyao is the core of the drama’s success. Fans have also voiced strong hopes that the supporting cast will remain intact, especially Wu Yanshu, who played “A Nai,” a beloved character often requested by viewers to return if a second season is made.
According to online sources, the second season is expected to expand its storytelling by incorporating cultural heritage and historical sites. The theme of digital nomads (remote workers who live and work while moving between locations) is also said to be included, reflecting a lifestyle trend that has gained popularity in recent years. In addition, audiences are eager to see resolutions to storylines left open in season one, such as the emotional paths of Xiaxia and Nana, the outcome of Hu Youyu’s pursuit of love, and Xie Xiaochun’s next chapter in her career.
There is also strong anticipation surrounding Liu Yifei’s return. Since completing filming for The Tale of Rose (玫瑰的故事) in late 2023, she has not taken on a new drama project for nearly two years. Many fans hope that season 2 of Meet Yourself could mark her comeback, even imagining scenes of Xu Hongdou in a wedding dress and glimpses of her married life with Xie Zhiyao as part of the story’s continuation.
