LayarHijau – Actor Johnny Huang has officially been announced as space tourist number 009 by Beijing ChuanYueZhe Manned Space Technology Co., Ltd. (@interstellOr穿越者). In a pre-recorded video, Huang expressed his honor at being a passenger on a Chinese-built spacecraft that will take him directly into the starry expanse.
The company revealed that their spacecraft, ChuanYueZhe Yihao (CYZ1), is expected to make its first manned flight in 2028, marking China’s first commercial crewed spacecraft. Ticket sales have already opened, priced at 3 million yuan (~420,000 USD) per seat, with a 10% deposit securing a reservation. More than ten passengers from various fields—including academia, business, aerospace, arts, entertainment, and social media—have already signed contracts for the flight.

Earlier, in 2023, Zhiyuan Robot’s CMO Qiu Heng became China’s commercial astronaut number 001 after purchasing the first-ever commercial space ticket independently. He noted that humanoid and quadruped robots can create limitless productivity, which may one day assist humanity in exploring new frontiers.
Besides Huang, confirmed passengers include Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Li Licheng, US-based poet Lin Xiaoyan, Vice Chairman and CEO of Guangzhou Zhengjia Group Xie Meng, CEO of Xinghe Dynamics Liu Baiqi, and space enthusiast influencer/blogger @NASA爱好者.
On January 18, the CYZ1 test version successfully completed a comprehensive validation of its landing and shock-absorbing system. This achievement positions ChuanYueZhe as the third commercial company worldwide to develop and verify manned spacecraft landing technology.
Founded in January 2023, ChuanYueZhe is China’s first commercial company dedicated to developing reusable crewed spacecraft and operating space tourism. The company aims to complete a reusable sub-orbital crewed spacecraft within the next 3–4 years, with China and potentially Asia offering commercial space tourism by around 2028.
