LayarHijau– Zhao Lusi reaffirmed her strong standing in the Chinese drama industry throughout 2025 through the success of Love’s Ambition (許我耀眼). The drama delivered outstanding performance in both viewership data and public attention across regions, earning a spot in Google Taiwan’s Top 10 Fastest Rising Search Keywords of 2025. Notably, it was the only drama title to appear on the list.
Her achievement was further reflected in Douban’s annual data. Alongside Yang Mi with This Thriving Land (生萬物) and Yang Zi through Flourished Peony (國色芳華), Zhao Lusi was listed among actresses with the strongest drama appeal of the year. However, when it came to raw performance metrics, Love’s Ambition stood out with a clear advantage, placing Zhao Lusi at the top based on viewership data.

The year prior had been a challenging period for Zhao Lusi. She paused her activities due to health concerns, became embroiled in disputes with her agency Galaxy Cool Entertainment, and eventually deactivated her Weibo account. These developments sparked widespread speculation that her career momentum might slow. Contrary to expectations, Love’s Ambition, her romance drama co-starring William Chan, premiered without major promotion and quickly ignited widespread discussion.
The drama went on to post strong results across multiple platforms and was widely regarded as one of the most talked-about productions of 2025, marking a major turning point in Zhao Lusi’s career. Her popularity surged once again, while reports suggested shifts in her working relationship with Galaxy Cool Entertainment. Around the same time, industry rumors surfaced claiming that Zhao Lusi had drawn interest from Alibaba—the largest shareholder of Galaxy Cool Entertainment—regarding possible future cooperation or career management. To date, no official announcement has been made, and these claims remain unconfirmed.
According to Douban’s “Actresses with the Strongest Drama Appeal in 2025” ranking, Love’s Ambition recorded an average of 67.56 million views per episode. This figure significantly surpassed other titles such as This Thriving Land (Yang Mi), Flourished Peony (Yang Zi), The Prisoner of Beauty (Song Zu’er), Coroner’s Diary (Li Landi), The Glory (Chen Duling), and Feud (Bai Lu), placing Zhao Lusi at the top in terms of data performance.
Beyond mainland China, Love’s Ambition was distributed internationally through multiple streaming platforms. The drama is available on Netflix in selected regions, including Taiwan, while viewers in other markets can access it via platforms such as LINE TV, WeTV, and Tencent Video’s official services. In Taiwan, the series sparked a notable surge in online searches, ultimately ranking ninth on Google Taiwan’s Fastest Rising Search Keywords list for 2025.
During its broadcast period, Love’s Ambition frequently topped Netflix’s drama rankings in Taiwan. Audiences were drawn to the story of a wealthy couple bound by a façade-filled marriage, portrayed by Zhao Lusi and William Chan with compelling emotional chemistry.
As 2026 begins, Zhao Lusi shared her reflections during a live broadcast on Xiaohongshu. She expressed gratitude to fans who continued to support her despite having limited work throughout 2025. She revealed that numerous endorsement offers and drama scripts have arrived in the new year and are currently under evaluation. Zhao Lusi also mentioned the possibility of participating in variety shows, hoping audiences would gain a better understanding of her true self beyond scripted roles.
