LayarHijau – Chinese short-drama actress Yue Yuting has been a hot topic of discussion after allegations surfaced claiming that she attended a wedding of a non-celebrity couple without an invitation, entered the bridal room without permission, and asked for wedding candies to be distributed to her fans. The accusations spread widely on social media and triggered negative comments from netizens.
Yue Yuting gained popularity in 2024 through the short drama The Moon Shines Over the West Tower (月满西楼), earning her the nickname “short-drama goddess” with millions of followers on Douyin. However, that popularity also came with increased public scrutiny after an internet user claimed that the actress “showed up uninvited,” even bringing her fans along to enter the newlyweds’ room and ask for candies as souvenirs. The post also mentioned that the act was not related to any filming activities and did not involve any compensation.

To clarify the issue, Yue Yuting’s studio quickly released an official statement. They emphasized that on the day of the incident, the actress was at a different filming location. During a break, she received a direct invitation from the bride’s family to go up to the bridal room and extend her congratulations.
In Chinese wedding customs, the bridal room refers to a decorated space meant to welcome close guests and relatives during the daytime as part of the wedding celebration.

The studio stated that the online content consisted of misleadingly edited video clips that created negative perceptions and harmed the actress’s public image. They are currently gathering evidence and will take legal action against those spreading defamation.
At the end of the statement, the studio congratulated the newlyweds and urged the public to shift their attention to matters that truly require collective concern, including the major fire disaster in Hong Kong that has been drawing widespread attention.
