LayarHijau — Actress Guo Yuxin is back in the spotlight after being accused of censoring the names of the core team of the short drama Good Rain Knows Its Season (好雨知时节) during a celebration livestream in Chengdu on October 16. Ye Feiye, the drama’s screenwriter, alleged that the names of the director, the male lead, and herself were added to the list of blocked words in the live comments (danmaku). She pointed to Guo Yuxin’s side as responsible because the livestream was run through the actress’s account. Guo Yuxin’s side denied the allegation. The case adds to a string of controversies surrounding Guo Yuxin over the past year.
According to Ye Feiye, the names of director Zhai Shifan, male lead Wang Haozhen, and her own were blocked for about 50 minutes and did not display normally. The livestream was held to celebrate the drama passing 3 billion views. Ye Feiye posted a screen recording of the conversation and a screenshot of a chat with Douyin customer service. In that chat, a representative described the word blocking as “a setting made by the host of that livestream room.”

Guo Yuxin’s side gave a different account. It said the livestream account was operated according to platform notices, that the artists had no backend operating permissions, and that the blocking was caused by a platform system malfunction. Both sides are sticking to their own versions.
Ye Feiye then continued to press the allegation on Weibo. She said the blocking came from Guo Yuxin’s side and called on them to release the backend operation logs to prove their innocence. She also wrote: “Stop acting like ‘being controversial still counts as being famous,’ then feeling like everyone is bullying you when negative news hits the trending list. You are clearly the one who reaped all the benefits and disgusted everyone else, yet you still pretend to be innocent.”
On October 17, Ye Feiye confirmed that in the early morning hours she created a WeChat group and sent Guo Yuxin more than 100 abusive messages. She wrote: “Put away your little schemes and don’t mess with me, or I really won’t mind posting the 100 messages where I cursed you online so everyone can see your true face.” She called Guo Yuxin a “coward” and said Guo Yuxin had once invited her to dinner to ask for forgiveness. The statement moved the dispute from a technical issue with the livestream into personal territory.
Ye Feiye and Guo Yuxin are involved in the same two short dramas. Besides Good Rain Knows Its Season, Guo Yuxin also stars in Chen Qiao Wei Wan (沉乔未晚), whose script was written by Ye Feiye together with another writer. The two are said to have been feuding since May, when Chen Qiao Wei Wan was in its promotion period. On May 21, the day before the drama premiered, Guo Yuxin posted a co-created video for a competing drama. Ye Feiye said the promotion budget for Chen Qiao Wei Wan was diverted as a result of the post.
Ye Feiye later made a series of other allegations on Weibo, including that Guo Yuxin backed out of a cooperation agreement shortly before filming and was uncooperative on promotion. On June 14, she published a long post repeating the allegations. The two then clashed publicly several more times, over a project withdrawal and a private recording.
Apart from the dispute with Ye Feiye, Guo Yuxin has faced several other controversies over the past year. She twice wore Dior outfits similar to those of actress Zhou Ye, prompting accusations that she was riding on Zhou Ye’s popularity. On July 4, a recording of a private conversation said to contain Guo Yuxin’s comments about Zhou Ye circulated widely. The recording was seen as contradicting her image of urging fans not to compare artists against each other. The authenticity of the recording has not been confirmed by any authority. In a livestream on July 7, Guo Yuxin said she would not admit to things she never did.
In addition, her agency, Xinlezhi, accused her of taking on projects and commercial deals without going through the company, and said the matter has been filed in court in Zhejiang. On September 23, the agency issued another statement saying her contract remains in effect. Guo Yuxin responded that the company is not her exclusive agent and has failed to pay her earnings. The case is reportedly still being heard.
