LayarHijau – The ongoing dispute between 26-year-old actress Zhao Lusi and her agency, Galaxy Cool Entertainment, has now entered its fourth day, following her striking livestream declaration, “I quit!” On August 5, Zhao returned to livestreaming—but this time, not only to address the contract issues. For the first time, she opened up about the emotional trauma she endured two years ago: her father’s cancer diagnosis and the loss of her grandfather while she was still working on set. Fighting back tears, Zhao’s emotional confession deeply moved fans.
“My father was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. It was very serious, and he was undergoing the second stage of chemotherapy,” she said, choking up during the stream. “At that time, I was still filming and couldn’t go home, because the drama production involved so many people. It wasn’t just my family’s matter at stake.”
She admitted that her heart was in turmoil, but she gritted her teeth and chose to finish filming. Even more heartbreaking, she wasn’t able to see her grandfather before he passed away.
“I only returned home on the day of the funeral,” she shared. “I knew I was very emotionally fragile at the time, which is why I didn’t want to attend public events. I was afraid that speaking out would only cause more harm.”
Now, however, she says she is no longer afraid to speak her truth. “My family has moved on. I don’t care what others say anymore.”
Amid both personal and public pressure, Zhao expressed heartfelt gratitude to her fans.
“You’ve all given me so much strength. I always feel like everyone’s lives are hard in their own way, so why should I give up?” she said. “I’m speaking out now for myself. I don’t want to sugarcoat the pain I went through. This is life—so let it go on.”
