LayarHijau – Rising Chinese actress Lu Yuxiao, best known for her breakout role as Shangguan Qian in My Journey to You (云之羽), recently became the center of public concern after a troubling incident at Shanghai airport. A viral video shows a man approaching her from behind and unexpectedly touching her head and shoulder as she walked through the arrival hall.
Lu, who has appeared in several dramas including The Longest Promise (玉骨遥), Love You Seven Times (七时吉祥), To Ship Someone (全世界都在等你们分手), Perfect Match (五福临门), and Romance in the Alley (小巷人家), was reportedly unaccompanied by staff or bodyguards at the time. Only her father was present to pick her up.

In the video, Lu is visibly startled by the sudden physical contact, turning around with a confused expression as the man quickly disappears into the crowd. The footage has sparked widespread outrage among netizens, with many describing the act as harassment and calling for better protection measures from her management agency.

In response to the controversy, Lu Yuxiao’s studio issued a public statement on July 24. “Any form of physical contact, stalking, or invasive filming crosses the line—not only disturbing the artist but potentially violating laws and regulations,” the statement read. “We firmly oppose all forms of irrational fan behavior.”

Online comments also criticized Lu’s agency for not ensuring her safety during public appearances. “Where is her team? How can she travel alone without basic protection?” one commenter questioned.
Beyond the incident, Lu Yuxiao is often praised for her gentle and elegant on-screen presence, frequently drawing comparisons to renowned actress Liu Yifei. Prominent producer Yu Zheng has publicly spoken highly of her talent and screen charisma.
Lu has also made headlines in the past for performing CPR on a crew member who collapsed during filming. Her quick response was widely praised, especially given her background—her mother is a dentist and her father a deputy director at a private hospital. Lu reportedly learned basic first aid from her parents.
Despite her rising popularity, Lu has also faced online criticism. She previously shared that a past injury caused spinal issues, which affects her walking posture. Unfortunately, some netizens mocked her appearance, accusing her of looking “disabled,” sparking debate around body shaming in the Chinese entertainment industry.
