Zhang Linghe had previously been spotted in Hengdian with several other cast members of Revenge. He is set to lead the drama alongside Lu Yunxiao, who is also signed to the same agency and is his junior within the company.
The production had previously attracted attention because Lu Yunxiao had not yet joined the cast in Hengdian. Earlier reports said she still had other commitments after wrapping a film, as well as several commercial activities to complete, meaning she was expected to join the production about a month later.
The situation sparked dissatisfaction among some of Zhang Linghe’s fans, who questioned the agency’s decision to have Zhang Linghe begin filming before the female lead joined the production.
Revenge has attracted considerable attention as Zhang Linghe’s popularity has risen sharply this year following his roles in The Best Thing (《逐玉》) and Overdo (《这一秒过火》).
Meanwhile, Lu Yunxiao has also become one of the young actresses attracting attention through her various drama projects. The two stars are managed by the same company and have now been paired as the leads in Revenge.
The sighting of Lu Yunxiao and Zhang Linghe at the Hengdian filming location on September 5 marks the latest development for Revenge and confirms that the two have begun working together on the drama.
