On December 16, Tian Xiwei’s team addressed this issue on Weibo. They emphasized that both lead actors hold equal positions and are committed to their work. The quality of the drama is the most important aspect.
“I want to make it clear that our positions are completely equal. Our team has always understood, respected, and collaborated with the crew’s arrangements. The actors work diligently and humbly, and all they care about is the quality of the work,” they stated.
“The other party has spread rumors about the actresses’ rankings, circulated edited photos of our actresses, and even attacked and defamed her. The ruthless and widespread dissemination of these rumors has created chaos for the project and has certainly hurt the actress. During the promotion of the drama, we adhered to the principles of harmonious development and mutual progress, refraining from responding to rumors. However, as the other party became aggressive and escalated the situation, we felt compelled to stand up for our legitimate rights and interests. We can no longer tolerate this and cannot retreat. We only seek justice. Suggestions and relevant evidence are being collected,” they added, as reported by Sohu.
The drama Zhu Yu (Chasing Jade) has become embroiled in the top billing debate. Many dramas and films in China face similar issues, where fans engage in disputes over billing.
Chasing Jade is adapted from a novel of the same name by Tuanzi Laixi. The story revolves around the complex and deep relationship between the two main characters, Fan Changyu and Xie Zheng. Fan Changyu (played by Tian Xiwei) is the daughter of a butcher from an ordinary family.
Her fate takes a sudden turn after her parents’ unexpected deaths. To protect her family’s legacy, she enters a fake marriage with the troubled Prince Wu’an (played by Zhang Linghe), Xie Zheng.
As she seeks the truth behind her parents’ tragic fate, Fan Changyu inadvertently embarks on a military career, earning honors through her heroic deeds and reuniting with Xie Zheng along the way. The couple stands together through years of war, gradually uncovering shocking secrets behind the Fan family’s tragedy. After enduring the trials of war, Fan Changyu transforms into a skilled female warrior, while Xie Zheng also becomes a pillar of the nation.
On the other hand, Xie Zheng initially appears as a young prince with high self-confidence, but many challenges in his life push him to evolve from an arrogant teenager into a national pillar. His encounter with Fan Changyu is not only a miraculous twist of fate but also a journey of mutual support and growth.
