Security guards repeatedly tried to keep the crowd away and maintain some distance between Zhou Yiran and the people around him. However, one fan continued to move closer and point a phone directly at the actor’s face.
Faced with the continued intrusion, Zhou Yiran, who is generally known for his calm and easygoing demeanor, eventually took action. After repeated attempts to stop the behavior failed, he raised his hand and knocked the phone to the ground.
Zhou Yiran then quickly left the scene. The video soon sparked discussion on social media and became a trending topic on Weibo.
Netizens Show Support for Zhou Yiran
Many netizens voiced their support for Zhou Yiran, arguing that following an actor and repeatedly invading his personal space crosses a line.
Some stressed that behavior like this should not be considered a form of fan support. In their view, being a fan does not give anyone the right to follow a celebrity or film them from an extremely close distance without respecting their comfort and privacy.
“Fans should have boundaries too” was among the sentiments widely expressed in the discussion.
Others pointed out that the issue goes beyond celebrities. They argued that anyone, including ordinary people, has the right not to have a stranger hold a phone directly in their face while filming them without permission.
Some Say Security Should Have Handled the Situation
Although most of the reactions supported Zhou Yiran, some netizens pointed out that physical confrontations or potential damage to personal property could still lead to legal disputes.
According to this view, when an actor is confronted by people who continue following and filming them aggressively, security personnel or staff should handle the situation. If the harassment continues, legal channels could also be used to protect the actor’s rights.
The incident has once again sparked discussion about where the line should be drawn between supporting a celebrity and intruding on their private space. An actor’s popularity does not mean they lose their right to personal space and safety.
