Overall, the main characters do find their respective happiness. However, the most unforgettable part of the ending comes from the fate of the main antagonist, Qi Yunke—the mastermind behind two decades of chaos in the martial arts world.

Long respected as a righteous leader, Qi Yunke is ultimately revealed to have blood on his hands. Yet, in his final moments, what remains is not a thirst for power, but a deep sense of guilt and a love that went unfulfilled for 20 years. Once the truth comes to light, the character who seemed most deserving of hatred becomes the most tragic figure in the entire story.

The climax centers on the final battle between Mu Qingyan and Qi Yunke. By this point, Mu Qingyan has long been poisoned by the deadly Su Zixiang toxin and is already near death. To protect the woman he loves, Cai Zhao, he makes a devastating decision—he transfers all of his inner energy to her.

Left powerless, he faces his enemy with nothing but the resolve to die. He uses the forbidden technique “Tianmo Jieti Dafa,” a move that sacrifices the user’s body in exchange for a massive, temporary surge of power.

Everyone believes this will end in his death—even Mu Qingyan himself has already prepared for it. But fate takes an unexpected turn. As the technique reaches its peak, the violent surge of energy forces the poison out of his system along with the remnants of his life force.

Instead of dying, he survives—and is even cured of the previously incurable poison. The man who once walked alone in darkness, burdened by vengeance, is unexpectedly given a second chance at life in what was supposed to be his final battle.

With the conflict resolved, the martial arts world finally returns to peace. Mu Qingyan lets go of his long-held ambitions and the heavy burden of family revenge. He even disbands Li Jiao, the feared organization he once led.

In a surprising turn, he chooses to marry into Cai Zhao’s family. Their wedding, held in Luoying Valley, is filled with celebration and symbolizes a fresh beginning.

Once enemies standing on opposite sides, they become each other’s light in the darkest moments of their lives. Their relationship ultimately embodies the drama’s central theme—love that transcends the boundaries of right and wrong.

At the root of all the tragedy, however, is Qi Yunke. Known as a respected and upright figure, and even Cai Zhao’s mentor, he is revealed to be the mastermind behind numerous major incidents—from the massacre of senior martial artists to the prolonged conflicts between sects.

All of it stems from his obsession with creating a “pure” martial arts world according to his own vision. He even sacrifices his own children in his pursuit of mastering the ultimate technique, Ziwei Xin Jing.

During the final confrontation, he still possesses the power to easily defeat Mu Qingyan and Cai Zhao. Yet at the critical moment, he hesitates and holds back against Cai Zhao.

After being fatally wounded, the pain briefly brings him back to his senses. He confesses that everything he has done was driven by guilt and love for Cai Pingshu—Cai Zhao’s late aunt.

It was she who once helped him rise to his position. But after she sacrificed herself for justice, her contributions were deliberately forgotten. That unresolved guilt slowly turned into an obsession that consumed him.

He believed that by controlling the martial arts world and creating order, he could repay that debt. In the end, however, he realizes that his actions only led him further away from the values he once held dear.

In his final moments, he finally says the words he has carried for 20 years: “I’m sorry.” He then chooses to end his own life, bringing closure to a lifetime of sins.

This tragic ending makes Qi Yunke one of the most unforgettable aspects of the drama—a deeply emotional conclusion that leaves a lasting sense of unresolved sorrow.

Beyond the main storyline, the supporting characters also receive their own conclusions. Qi Lingbo, Qi Yunke’s daughter, breaks free from her family’s shadow and chooses her own path. She rejects a politically arranged marriage and chooses to be with Dai Fengchi, who has always stood by her side.

Together, they take on the responsibility of rebuilding Qingque Sect, restoring it to its rightful path.

Song Yuzhi, Cai Zhao’s former fiancé, remains true to his principles. Even while on the brink of death from poison, he continues to expose the truth. After everything settles, he returns to his sect and becomes a righteous leader of the new generation.

Meanwhile, You Guanyue—once known for his opportunistic nature—ultimately redeems himself by choosing the side of justice for the sake of the woman he loves, Xing’er. His decision leads to a happy ending for the two of them.

Other characters like Yang Xiaolan, Tao Xiaoshu, and Zhou Yuqi also find their own paths after the turmoil.

In the end, the martial arts world—once shaken by ambition and conspiracy—finally regains its peace. Like a long night of relentless rain that finally clears, it leaves behind a calm that had been missing for far too long.
