LayarHijau – Bai Lu and Zhou Yiran suddenly shot to the top of trending searches in China on May 18 after rumors surfaced claiming the two were dating. The speculation began after paparazzi released a video showing Zhou Yiran returning to Bai Lu’s apartment complex following a dinner gathering with friends.
In the circulating footage, Bai Lu and Zhou Yiran were seen arriving at the airport separately before later joining several friends for dinner. After the gathering, Bai Lu reportedly rode in a car arranged by Zhou Yiran and was driven home by his driver. Meanwhile, Zhou Yiran first went somewhere else with his assistant before being picked up again later.

Paparazzi then claimed that both stars eventually returned to the same apartment complex. That quickly fueled online speculation about a possible romance, secret relationship, and even rumors that they might be living together.
However, viewers pointed out that the video itself did not show any particularly intimate interactions between the two. There were no scenes of hand-holding, private dates, or obvious romantic moments that would typically spark relationship rumors.
Not long after the speculation began spreading online, Bai Lu’s studio released an official statement denying the rumors. The studio said the information circulating online was misleading and clarified that the outing was simply a normal dinner gathering among friends.
“The online content is misleading. It was only a normal dinner gathering with friends that day. Other rumors are false. The artist is currently single, and we hope the public will view the matter rationally,” the statement said.
Zhou Yiran’s studio also issued a similar response, emphasizing that it was merely a casual gathering between friends and had nothing to do with dating rumors. The studio also confirmed that Zhou Yiran is currently single.
The incident once again highlights how simple interactions between young actors and actresses can quickly trigger dating speculation online, especially when both celebrities are popular and seen by fans as having strong visual chemistry.
In today’s social media era, ordinary interactions can easily be edited with romantic music, slow motion, and dramatic effects, making them look like scenes from an idol drama. As a result, fans often become deeply invested in pairing celebrities together even before any real evidence emerges.
Because of this, many stars have become increasingly cautious about public interactions to avoid unnecessary speculation. Bai Lu and Zhou Yiran’s quick response was seen by many as an effective way to stop the rumors from escalating further.
As of now, both sides have firmly denied the dating rumors. Based on the statements released so far, the situation appears to have been nothing more than an ordinary dinner gathering that became exaggerated through online speculation.
