The Early Spring’s Luan Nian Lives in a Luxury Apartment Inspired by This Property, and Its Price Is Stunning

LayarHijau – The popularity of The Early Spring has turned Luan Nian, played by Jing Boran, into one of the drama’s most talked-about characters. The handsome, wealthy and stylish young executive, with his commanding personality, has even inspired a wave of memes on Chinese social media.

But it is not just Luke himself who has caught viewers’ attention. His luxurious home in the drama has also sparked curiosity. The residence has been linked to Vanke Metropolis NAVA (北京万科大都会NAVA), a high-end residential development in Beijing, China.

Discussions on Chinese social media have identified the building as the real-life property associated with Luke’s home in the drama. Meanwhile, the apartment interiors seen in The Early Spring were constructed as sets for production.

Interestingly, the property is far more than an ordinary luxury development. Its distinctive design makes it particularly fitting for Luan Nian, especially because the project was designed by renowned French architect Jean Nouvel, a recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize.

Luke’s Home Inspiration Was Designed by a Pritzker Prize-Winning Architect

Vanke Metropolis NAVA has a design that differs considerably from the conventional image of a luxury residence.

When people picture a high-end apartment, they may imagine a façade dominated by large glass panels, uniform stonework and a clean, minimalist appearance. NAVA, however, has a much more complex exterior.

The façade combines different colors and textures of stone with colorful louvers and plants growing along the exterior. From a distance, its unfinished-looking appearance has even led some observers to compare it to a building that is still under construction.

In fact, the building was completed in 2022.

The irregular appearance of the façade is part of its architectural concept. The natural stone used on the exterior includes Kamarica natural stone from Brazil, featuring green, reddish-brown and yellow patterns.

Because each piece of stone has its own unique pattern and coloration, those variations were retained when the stones were installed across the façade. The result is an exterior with a deliberately varied and textured appearance.

Colorful Louvers Draw Inspiration From the Forbidden City

Another striking feature is the series of colorful louvers on the side of the building.

Colors such as gold, red, blue and green are said to draw inspiration from the palette found in Beijing’s Forbidden City, including colors traditionally used in imperial architecture and decoration.

The louvers are not merely decorative, however. Installed on the western side of the building, they also help reduce direct sunlight entering the residences.

When sunlight passes through them, the colors and patterns create changing shadows inside the building. The façade therefore becomes part of the interior experience rather than simply serving as an exterior design element.

This approach gives NAVA a distinctive character compared with conventional luxury residences. While its exterior may look unusual at first glance, the design combines function, landscaping and architecture.

The Building Also Features a Vertical Garden

Another distinctive feature is the vegetation growing from various sections of the exterior.

The plants are part of a vertical garden concept. Rather than concentrating all of the greenery at ground level, vegetation is incorporated into the building itself, allowing residents to experience greenery as part of the architecture.

Maintaining such a system comes with its own challenges. Beijing has harsh winters, while plants growing on a high-rise building also require regular care and a reliable water supply.

The project therefore reportedly conducted experiments with different types of plants and installed an automated irrigation system to help maintain the greenery.

Over time, the plants themselves have become part of the building’s appearance. This means the façade does not remain static after construction but can continue to evolve as the vegetation grows.

The Price Is a Major Surprise

The luxury of NAVA is also reflected in its property prices.

According to information circulating about the development, prices can reach around 600,000 baht, or approximately $18,000 per square meter. Based on a unit measuring around 100 square meters, the total value could reach approximately 60 million baht, or around $1.8 million.

That figure gives some perspective on the class of property associated with Luan Nian’s home.

As a successful young executive, a residence of this caliber fits Luke’s character particularly well. He is portrayed as someone who pays close attention to his appearance, lifestyle and surroundings. The fact that the property was designed by a world-renowned architect also feels fitting for a character who works in a creative field.

The Location Also Fits Luan Nian’s Lifestyle

The location of the property is another reason it works so well as a reference for Luan Nian’s home.

Vanke Metropolis NAVA is located in Beijing with convenient access to public transportation. In the context of Luke’s life in the drama, his home is also said to be only about one station away from his workplace.

That gives Luan Nian the kind of lifestyle expected of a top executive: a luxurious home in a convenient location, distinctive architecture and a relatively short commute to the office.

Interestingly, the contrast between the building’s interior and exterior may be part of what makes the property such a fitting choice for Luke. The lavish interior shown in the drama reflects his lifestyle, while the exterior offers a more experimental and artistic approach to architecture.

It is therefore hardly surprising that Luke’s home has become a topic of discussion following the success of The Early Spring. Chinese social media users have even joked that people who go to Beijing hoping to meet Luke may end up encountering “Joke” instead.

The popularity of the character has encouraged viewers to look more closely at his life beyond the story. And once they discover that the property associated with his home was designed by a Pritzker Prize-winning architect and features premium materials, vertical gardens and a design inspired by Beijing’s traditional architecture, the choice suddenly makes even more sense for Luan Nian.

NAVA may not immediately look like the stereotypical luxury residence from the outside, but that unconventional appearance is intentional. So while Luke’s home looks undeniably expensive from the inside, there is also a fascinating architectural story behind the real-life property that inspired it.
