LayarHijau – Sun Yuchen (Justin Sun) has come under fire after publishing a roughly 6,000-word post titled “My Girlfriend Jing Tian” on August 27. Although he labeled the piece as “purely fictional,” Sun Yuchen directly named Chinese actress Jing Tian and shared a series of personal details about their alleged past relationship.
The post also addressed a dispute over 30 million yuan (around US$4.2 million), which Sun Yuchen claimed was money given during their relationship. The issue quickly sparked widespread discussion across Chinese social media.

However, the controversy has gone far beyond the money dispute. Sun Yuchen also included highly personal details about his alleged relationship with Jing Tian, prompting many people to question why such private matters were being brought into the public spotlight.
A large number of Chinese netizens criticized Sun Yuchen for discussing his former partner in such detail after their relationship ended. Some described his behavior using the Chinese internet slang “吃完唱” (chī wán chàng), referring to someone who speaks badly about a former partner after benefiting from the relationship.
The backlash intensified as many argued that any financial dispute should be handled through legal channels rather than by publicly revealing intimate details about a former partner.
“Sun Yuchen once spent a fortune on a lunch with Warren Buffett to generate publicity. Now he’s even squeezing the last bit of value out of his relationship with his ex and turning their personal dispute into part of his personal brand,” one widely shared comment read.
Others accused Sun Yuchen of failing to respect Jing Tian’s privacy, arguing that turning intimate relationship details into online content could cause further harm to the actress.
Jing Tian’s Side Rejects Alleged Evidence
As the controversy escalated, Jing Tian’s side issued a strong statement rejecting several pieces of evidence presented by Sun Yuchen. They claimed that documents and screenshots of conversations cited in his account had been fabricated.
Jing Tian later responded herself, saying that she would not sell her love or soul for money.
Her statement prompted an outpouring of support from Chinese netizens, many of whom felt that the actress had become the more vulnerable party after what was described as a private relationship dispute turned into a highly public controversy.
“The most disturbing part is how a post labeled ‘purely fictional’ can still drag an actress’s name into such a massive controversy,” one commenter wrote.
Sun Yuchen later appeared to soften his stance and suggested that he wanted to put the dispute to rest. However, he did not issue a direct apology to Jing Tian.
Instead, he said that the sound of him “turning off the lights” had disturbed Jing Tian, adding that this was not his intention.
The remark drew another wave of criticism, with netizens questioning whether it amounted to a genuine apology for the controversy sparked by his lengthy post.
Jing Tian was later seen in Guangzhou following the uproar but did not make any further comments about the matter.
The dispute between Jing Tian and Sun Yuchen continues to attract attention on Chinese social media, with discussions centering on the 30 million yuan payment, the authenticity of the documents and conversations cited by both sides, and Sun Yuchen’s decision to make highly personal details about their alleged relationship public.
