The global launch comes ahead of its Japanese release. Razer Japan initially said that the Japanese launch date would be announced at a later time. The company has since confirmed that the Razer Prio will go on sale in Japan on September 11, 2026, for ¥16,980 including tax. Based on the current exchange rate of around ¥160.18 per U.S. dollar, that works out to approximately $106.
The pricing varies across markets. In the U.S., the Razer Prio is priced at $99.99, while the European price is €109.99, equivalent to roughly $127 based on an exchange rate of around €1 to $1.16. In the United Kingdom, the controller is priced at £99.99, or approximately $135 at an exchange rate of around £1 to $1.35.
These currency conversions are approximate and may change depending on exchange-rate movements.
The Razer Prio connects directly to a smartphone through USB-C. Once the phone is mounted horizontally, users can play compatible games using the controller’s analog sticks, directional pad and other physical controls.
One of the biggest selling points is its foldable design. The two sides of the controller can be folded inward when it is not being used, allowing the device to take up considerably less space than a conventional mobile gaming controller.
Razer says the Prio supports smartphones measuring up to 7 inches and is compatible with both Android and iPhone devices. The controller is also designed to work with commonly used smartphone cases, meaning users do not necessarily have to remove their case before attaching the device.
The controller is also designed to operate without a separate battery or charging process, as it draws power directly through the USB-C connection. This allows users to connect the Prio and start playing without having to worry about keeping another device charged.
For players who frequently switch between mobile gaming and other devices, the foldable form factor could make the Razer Prio particularly appealing. Rather than carrying a full-sized controller, users can fold the Prio down into a more compact shape and take it with them.
Here is how the announced pricing compares across several markets:
- United States: $99.99
- Europe: €109.99 (approximately $127)
- United Kingdom: £99.99 (approximately $135)
- Japan: ¥16,980 including tax (approximately $106)
Razer has not yet announced an official Indonesian price or local release date for the Razer Prio.
With its global launch already underway and the Japanese release scheduled for September 11, the Razer Prio is positioned as a portable alternative for smartphone gamers looking for physical controls without the bulk of a traditional controller.
